80s music vid & some nostalgia sorta

Okay… this is my first time making a blog post so idk if it will go well :0

Anyways, my dad had his bday recently and I got him a recording of his old band vid that he made in the ‘80s when he was a teen which is low-key SUPER COOL?! it’s mostly just him and his friends playing their tunes and stuff but between some songs they’d do these ‘interviews’ just chatting abt the band and what they’re all about. Also it was soooo weird seeing my dad at my age bc I’ve only ever known him as an adult if that makes sense.

But it made me wonder some things and maybe this is just bc I really like vintage stuff and maybe it’s just nostalgia for a time I wasn’t around :/ but it feels so much more genuine for some reason? Idk how to describe it. It feels like teenagers used to do much more creative and social things - but I feel like nowadays it’s way less? Just the banter they were having seemed like sm fun and my dad was telling me about the nicknames they gave each member and I just feel like over my whole teenage years I’ve never experienced that sort of thing. 

So I wonder if it’s just me or if genuine connection (at least amongst teenagers) is somewhat fading?
