20 weeks of paramore - week 12 - that's what you get

"why, all the possibilities i'm sure you've heard..."

welcome to week 12! the song i’ve got to share today is that’s what you get, one of their most popular ones. admittedly, it'll be pretty short. it's a fairly straightforward song.

no introduction needed, it's packed with energy right out of the gate. and i swear, i get the chorus to this song stuck in my head all the time (and it doesn’t go away until i listen to it in full, haha). i think what makes it particularly catchy to me is the drum line, ehehe. it's one of those songs that always feels as if it ends too soon. but not in an unfinished sort of way! in a way that just makes you listen to it over and over again so those catchy melodies repeat.

the lyrics basically follow the singer considering the consequences of leading with their heart rather than their mind or thinking anything through-- "drowning out all [their] sense" with the whims of their heart, yet never truly ending up fulfilled in the long-term by their choices.
