[WARNING: Spoilers!]
Hello sunshine, the earth says hello!
(sorry this is my first blog lmao)
Ok, I was in a shitty mood. Motley Crue level dirty (ok it wasn't that bad not to that extent but it feels like it especially with how messy my room is right now when i still haven't unpacked and made my bed for 2 days). I was rotting inside out, skipped my lecture, passed out from 4pm till 8pm. I was tired for no apparent reason. and I got a bit sad thinking about some stuff.
So, instead of having to eat plain ol' cafeteria food, I decided to order my self some seafood ramen, soy sauce fried chicken, a 7 Up, and a raspberry vanilla ice cream. While waiting for my food to arrive, I needed a movie that is fun and comforting but still let me curious to know more. I was drawn to the '85 film, Clue, because that's what I thought would fulfill the requirements and what could give me a better night. And boy it sure did.
10 pm. Dinner served. Speaker connected and glowing. Tablet ready and opened up the film. At the start I really didn't expect much of it, but the more it progressed the memorable it became. It got so interesting I had to pause it to grab a pen (one that a friend gave me the night before) and quickly take notes on a tissue napkin. The seemingly hour and a half film turned into a 4 hour film because of constant replays, slow Wi-Fi, taking notes and a quick stop at my dorm's vending machine for an assortment of chocolate by hour 3 ( I swear i don't pig out like this everyday, my metabolism today suddenly worked after a long time).
I was initially suspicious of Yvette. Her body language, her sudden appearances and disappearances, and overall how she acted was way too suspicious. Then Mrs. White. Her past husbands, her interaction (or lack of) with Yvette, and again how she acted around the butler Wadsworth. Then the butler. Again, frequent appearances and disappearances, his knowledge of the house and its people, the invitations and the blackmail evidence he had. then I was suspicious of Colonel Mustard for probably burning the blackmail evidence since it had photos of him. And lastly Plum for pronouncing Mr. Boddy as dead when he could have, in fact been alive before being killed again.
I had way too many suspicious people. I was blaming and pointing the gun at everyone but Mr. Green. Turns out, I didn't blame enough. I was right about these people, they were all involved with different murders of that night. Plum attempted to murder Boddy then made sure of it again. Mustard took the key where the weapons were locked up and killed the motorist. White strangled Yvette. Yvette was only an accomplice who slid blackmail information. And the butler killed the telegram girl. I didn't catch on the possibility that Ms. Scarlet would kill the cop and Mrs. Peacock would kill the cook.
Well the most shocking part of the film to me wasn't the reveal or that Mr. Green was an FBI agent. Actually, it had something to do with him. Turns out he was straight all along LMAO. I don't know why but that last line shocked me more than anything in that film. As for the endings, the final ending made the most sense to me by the amount of corpses there were. One person couldn't have killed six people especially since most murders happened one after the other in a blackout in, mind you, A HUGE MANSION. So it made sense that all but Green killed everybody else.
Honestly? i would rewatch it again. It's such a good and entertaining film. It really lightened my spirit after a shitty day so honestly I would recommend it to anybody.
BTW it bothered me that they never explained the window part. It was broken, the shards weren't inside, making me believe that someone inside was trying to get out. But no explanation? none? I guess it was just a red herring ( ̄y▽, ̄)╭
Peace. (∩^o^)⊃━☆
