the nostalgia of church bells

the church bells are ringing whilst im writing this

theres just something about the pure nostalgia that church bells give me (most specifically in an evening). every thursday without fail, our small-rural-village has its church bell practise. usually around 7pm to about 9pm. its comforting somehow, the constancy of it, the bells ringing joyously on an otherwise ordinary weekday, stitching time together and reminding us what while the world may change, some traditions hold steady. 

i dont actually go to church, but the beautiful chime of the bells is just enough for me. there is a simple beauty in it - familiary, soothing and quietly grounding. for those brief 2 hours everything feels just a little more at peace, as if in that moment all is well with the world
