My Four Favorite Games of All Time

I originally posted this as a reply to a forum post but I looked back at the reply and enjoyed reading it so much that I decided to post it as a bulletin. then I realized bulletins are temporary and it would expire in ten days, so I decided to make it a blog post as well. feel free to reply with your favorite games and why you like them

I like the FE series in general because there's just so much to talk about regarding them, the maps and units have both sparked endless discussion. thracia is my favorite first of all because the added mechanics are fun to play around with and furthermore because I like the narrative the game spins, you really do feel like you are leading a struggling rebellion. I would never recommend it as a first FE game for somebody new to the series, but it is my favorite

my favorite zelda game. the plot isn't particularly complicated, nor does it bring anything particularly unique to the table, but it's enjoyable because it presents a reasonable challenge, superb dungeon design, and an overworld that is quite fun to explore as well

I like the touhou series in general. they are so simple and fair yet so challenging and easy to screw up. I like not only the games but also the universe. I like the world of gensokyo, the characters, the concepts, the derivation from japanese mythology. PCB is my decisive favorite not for any deep or detailed reason but simply because it's the most I've played and I have the most memories of it

easily the most terrifying and stressful game I've ever played. obviously the black sheep on this list, but I do have a soft spot for atmospheric horror games like amnesia or outlast. I like it because, like thracia, it makes you feel like you are truly in the protagonist's shoes, and like both link to the past and touhou, it presents a reasonable challenge. of course, it is the easiest game of these four, but the first time you play it you'll likely die alot
