My story with this game goes way back. I first saw CS 1.6 around 2009, as a kid in a local internet café. Just a bunch of older guys playing, and I was instantly hooked. A few years later, I got my own PC, and in 2014 I discovered CS:GO. That was a turning point for me — before that, I was mostly playing browser games and Minecraft.
Then came CS2... and a lot has changed — not always for the better. Sadly, starting this year, I stopped playing actively. Here’s why:
1. Hit registration.
In CS:GO, matchmaking used 64 tick servers, but Faceit used 128 ticks, which felt way smoother. With CS2, Valve introduced "sub-tick"... but in reality, it feels just like 64 tick all over again — even on Faceit.
2. Cheaters.
This one hurts. When CS:GO went free-to-play, the cheater wave hit hard. And now with CS2's Premier mode and global leaderboards… it’s gotten worse.
3. Valve’s attitude.
Yeah, some might say there’s nothing left to add. But hey — we’re still getting new skins and cases (aka $$$ for Valve), yet no new operations, no return of Danger Zone, no real fix to hit reg, and the anti-cheat is still bad.
Bottom line?
CS is a legendary game. I spent years with it, and it shaped how I see multiplayer. But it sucks to see it in this state now. Maybe one day I’ll return… but for now, I’m taking a break and just watching from the sidelines.
