You know, I'd like to become an actress, an artist, or something like that. Since childhood, I have been attracted to art and art. But my father was always against it, saying that "an artist is not a profession, they are terribly poor." He wants me to become a programmer or a physicist. I feel like I'm wasting my life.

i totally understand. ever since i was young, i wanted to be an artist/creative, but my dad would always tell me no and that it was a stupid idea. i grew up with the impression that i was to be a programmer -- but i have happily 180'd!
i am now going to school for english and art, and i couldn't be happier! i don't care if i won't get a job in the future. at least i can spend my college years studying something i actually love!
honestly, as artists, we will always hear that "oh, you won't make any money doing that" but i've learned to ignore the comments! live life how you want to!
