The next day, my family and I decided to have a quiet little birthday celebration before getting back on the road by one of our favorite places, Lake Erie. The great lakes are a must see because they are like mini oceans and just super pretty!
Before stopping at the lake, we decided to shop for our picnic food at Wegmans, which we heard was a grocery paradise for New Yorkers from our friends. Our friends were correct because I walked through that store with my mouth wide open in wonder! I didn't take pictures because I was already getting strange looks from the employees and the shoppers, but it was amazing! There was every kind of cheese, every kind of bake bread, ever kind of fruit, and every kind of drink you can imagine and so much more! It was also set up like a mini market, with each stand selling a different item, which was pretty cool! I was kind of overwhelmed with all the options, but I was able to pick out some cheese, bite sized crostini pieces, a dip, some fruit, pickles, salami, some lemonade, macroons, and a fruit tart for the picnic.
When we got to the lake, it was as beautiful as ever!
One of my favorite things about Lake Erie is that it produces so many cool rocks and these colorful shells that looked like seashells!
After walking along the shore, we decided to eat our lovely picnic!
It was all delicious!
After that, we began our long stretch of days where we did not do very much but drive. We did stop at the serpent mound in Ohio, but I forgot to take pictures of it because I was too busy trying to get the best closeup of a cicada!Bro is chill lol!
Also forgive my hands, they were super dry the entire trip for some reason lol!
