Usb stick is a pain in the a--

So, like any sane person with a slow pc that is trying to bully you into buying a new pc to run Windows 11,  I've been attempting to install Linux. Key word, attempting. 

This really should have been a breeze. I had a five gig flash drive on hand and enough tech skills, thanks to homebrewing every console I own. Download the ISO mirror from one of the provided websites on the Mint website, check that I have a good download and proper checksum. Get to the part where I download ISO to the drive. Tell me why, only then my pc let's me know my flash drive is very much broken. It can't be repaired because the drive can't be accessed. Like, wtf.

Cut to me scouring the household for an extra flash drive. We have external hard drives, SD, and micro SD cards for days, but no extra flash drives. All that can be found by the mixed searching by me and my dad was a melted two gig flash drive (unusable). 

In short, until I get a new usb stick, I can't install Linux. It's really not that big of a deal... but fuck man. I have to postpone finishing this until the new flash drive comes in the mail. 

The whole reason I am doing the whole Linux thing in the first place is that my pc right now is on the verge of unusable. I don't have the money for a whole new one, and I'd rather off myself before having Windows 11 on a personal computer. Plus, editing html and working on my other digital projects on my phone sucks ass. 

I guess editing my profile will have to wait.
