Moral orel ^_^ putty/bendy parallels

what better time to write an analysis thing than when im in school? anyways this is just an off the top of my head ramble, so I wont rlly expand on my thoughts as much as I want to. maybe i'll update this one day, who knows?

nurse bendy/rev putty

the healthiest family dynamics in moral orel are inarguably nurse bendy and joe, and reverend putty and stephanie. I think it's interesting to note the that the overarching similarity between both of these families is an estranged parent that couldn't be with their child for whatever reason, and their kid.

both nurse bendy and reverend putty find love through familial connections rather than romantic connections, but the difference is their mindset on that. reverend putty initially doesnt even want stephanie, and why would he? he didnt choose to have a kid, and he wasn't even told about her when she was born. but nurse bendy has always known about joe, always wanted joe. she was seperated from him and the rest of her family, living isolated and by herself with only her bears to keep her company. bendy didn't choose to have a kid, but she wanted him anyway. and he was ripped away from her, with everyone around her son lying to him about who she was.

reverend putty spends the better part of the show wanting to find a partner. nurse bendy spends a part of the show stuck in an affair that she didn't even want. It takes for reverend putty to make amends with stephanie for him to find value in a platonic familial relationship, yet that's all that nurse bendy wanted in the first place. reverend putty spends the first two seasons wanting for a romantic love, while nurse bendy spends her time yearning to be with her son.

(interesting stuff to shoehorn in here) reverend putty is shown to be lonely in the halloween episode (and the whole show let's be real), and when stephanie reveals that she doesn't want a romantic relationship, and is infact his daughter, he immediately expresses disinterest. his first instinct to someone expressing wanting a genuine connection is to shut them down, because it isnt the connection that he envisioned. how much of his lonlieness is his own fault?

also im sort of glad that moral orel was cancelled. while I wanted the show to go on, I didnt like the small plot where putty has sex with bendy while he's missing florence. not that it's not in character or anything, I just didnt like it. my ideal ending is one where putty finds fufillment in platonic relationships, but I didnt mind him ending up with florence much

I wanna write more about moral orel. this show makes me so ill I really hope that the movie does end up being a thing
