the rorsters take/opinion on Moonlight (A24 film)

Moonlight...

10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000/10 movie.

From the directing, to the screenwriting, to the acting, the song choices, the editing, the cinematography, absolutely everything about it is just so. Natural feeling. The way the movie captured Chiron's life in a way that felt so normal, like we were simply just watching these scenes from his head or something. There was no specific narration needed to make the story more compelling or attractive. There wasn't a need for any crazy loud loud moments. Every choice that was made seemed so carefully constructed and they all seemed to blend into one another in a way that only a few select movies have been able to capture. The three parts all blending into one was such a carefully crafted choice and if it wasn't done right it would have left so so so many plot holes and left the audience rather confused. But it was the opposite, it was not too much, not too little, just right.

Now, lets talk about this ACTINGGGG. For the most part, anyone could play an emotionally traumatized kid struggling with his identity. But the actors that were chosen to play Chiron were absolutely perfect. They also all did look alike, like this was seriously the same kid in the same role just growing up. He captures the traumatic life of Chiron so well and conveyed that young man's emotions in a way that left my heart ACHING. "You're the only man that has ever touched me" LIKE WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT THE ABSOLUTE WATERWORKS I HAD IN THAT SCENE WAS JUST WOW.

I love this movie and I have more thoughts but I'm tired but you guys get the vision that it is amazing and if you have not seen it you really should
