Character Button Guide!

Do you want a button that randomly chooses one of your characters to slap on your ArtFight profile for those who can't decide on who to draw? Well I got the tool for you!

This super neat site here not only can be used to have an image change when refreshing the page, but it also can be used to randomly pick a character out of the many characters you may have!

To get this to work you'll need... This site and your characters! Having a fancy button graphic is optional, but I'm assuming you want to use one anyways so make sure you have your graphic of choice uploaded to an image hosting site such as FileGarden.

STEP ONE: Decide on a username and password for your link and make sure you write it down somewhere just in case you want to add more characters later. Continue until you're at the page with a bunch of text boxes.

STEP TWO: Copy each character link you want to add into the boxes, ONE PER BOX! Hit the submit query button when you're done. If you run out of space to add characters, click the submit query button and it'll give you more space to work with.

STEP THREE: Ignore the fact it's showing you a bunch of broken images (it's trying to read the links as image files) and copy the big link at the top of the page. Clicking it will just send you to a random character, so you need to copy it from the page.

STEP FOUR: Now go edit your ArtFight page where you want your random character button to go. This can be your main page or some other page, though I recommend the main one.

STEP FIVE: Insert the copied link onto your page. I recommend either finding/making a graphic that tells people it's a random character button or make it linked text that says it's a random character button, otherwise most people won't understand what the link is for. Make sure people can see this in both dark and light mode!

STEP SIX: Save the page! You're now done, feel free to test out your fun new button!
