"Sinners" movie review

i genuinely need to talk abt this movie cuz its been a week now since i went to watch it in the cinema. aight so first of all WTF!?!?! TS WAS SO FUCKING MESMERIZING!! like icl i was having the most chills throughout the movie. and the main scene where Sammie showcased his musical talents, this scene became part of my soul strings istg, the music, the FUCKING CINEMATOGRAPHY?????????????? istg the producers and the cinematographers ate that SHIT UP. the thing is the plot was mediocre, but the fact (as a huge plot fan) that every other aspect in the movie made me completely ignore how mid the plot is, literally shows the brilliance of the production. back to the main scene cuz i cant shut up abt it. first the music. ok so i am no the biggest on the genre portrayed in the movie, HOWEVER, it would be downsized if i say that i was levitating in the cinema hall. I was EARGASMING!!! and the way it showed how his music was so spiritual by showing the history and future of not only the beautiful black culture but also the other present asian/chinese culture (correct me if i said anything wrong or offensive <3), this depiction was captured brilliantly. the way it mixed between Sammie's song/genre and underlined in order the development of music, not only that, but the dances. the way almost every type of dancing was there was so wholesome, and here he is, in the center, uniting different people with different backgrounds and futures. thats it ig i dont wanna yap especially when ik no one will read ts, but yeah this doesnt even cover half of how i feel towards that move

10/10

Love your review! I saw it a few weeks ago after work and agree I was captivated the whole film! I agree, it's a fairly simple plot but it's the character writing and themes that give the film so much substance! I really liked how it utilized music and how songs can unite and embrace all different walks of life just as effectively as religion can. Even the vampires surprised me, I like how they weren't just depicted as bloodsucking killers, but another marginalized group that needs each other to survive. Even though, they were the antagonists they were compelling and I could see where they were coming from! Also just that scene with Sammie playing...UNREAL I agree it was such an incredible moment on the big screen, so glad people are supporting this film!

Also, don't worry about nobody reading this. All of us love hearing your thoughts and opinions!! :)

ur so sweet and i REALLY appreciate sharing ur thoughts, u literally described perfectly!! i really love this movie it became one of my top favorites so quickly. mostly, i am very glad that the film/movie industry created such deep well made movie, especially that it has been (personally) very lazy and not unique recently.
