TW Drug Use, Zoey 101 Synthetic Marijuana and Booze Fan Fiction... God I got too much nothing to do

Episode Title: "Blinded by the Hype"

Opening Scene:

  • Zoey, Chase, Lola, and Michael are walking across the PCA quad, discussing plans for the upcoming "PCA Beach Bonanza." Lola is excited about a new biodegradable glitter she wants to try. Michael is trying to invent a sand-proof phone case.

  • Zoey: "Okay, so we get there early to snag a good spot for the volleyball tournament, then..."

  • Suddenly, Zoey stops dead in her tracks. Her eyes widen in horror.

  • Zoey: (Whispering) "No... it can't be."

  • The camera pans to a secluded spot near the bleachers. Dustin Brooks is there, looking uncharacteristically "edgy." He's got a can of Four Loko in one hand, and he's taking a drag from a suspicious-looking pipe/cigarette. Trisha Kirby is right next to him, giggling, and then they start making out sloppily.

Act I: The Confrontation & The Fallout

  • Zoey, without a word to her friends, marches over.

  • Zoey: "DUSTIN THEODORE BROOKS! WHAT IN THE WORLD DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!"

  • Dustin and Trisha jump apart, startled. Dustin quickly tries to hide the Four Loko and the "Wicked X" package.

  • Dustin: "Zoey! What are you doing here? It's... uh... nothing."

  • Trisha: (Scoffs) "Relax, Brooks. He's just having a little fun. Something you wouldn't know about."

  • Zoey ignores Trisha, her eyes blazing at Dustin.

  • Zoey: "Fun? Is that what you call this? Smoking... whatever that is, drinking that (points at the Four Loko), and with her?!"

  • She snatches the Wicked X package and the can. "Do you have any idea how dangerous this stuff is? 'Herbal Incense'? Dustin, this isn't some harmless prank!"

  • Dustin: (Getting defensive) "It's just Wicked X, Zoey! Everyone says it's cool. And Trisha's fine! You're just trying to ruin my life!"

  • Zoey drags a protesting Dustin away, leaving a smirking Trisha. "We are talking, NOW."

Later, in Zoey's dorm room (Dustin is sulking):

  • Zoey: "I can't believe you, Dustin. Trisha Kirby is bad news, and that stuff you were smoking and drinking could seriously hurt you!"

  • Dustin: (Yelling) "You don't know anything! You're just a giant BUZZKILL! You always treat me like a baby! I hate it!" He storms out.

  • Zoey looks devastated and worried.

The Friends' Intervention (The Wrong Kind):

  • Dustin finds Chase, Lola, Michael, Logan, Quinn, and Nicole hanging out at the lounge. He dramatically recounts the incident, painting Zoey as an overbearing fun-ruiner.

  • Logan: (Scoffs) "Typical Brooks. Always gotta be Miss Perfect. Kid needs to live a little."

  • Nicole: "Aww, making out with Trisha? Kinda rebellious and cute! Maybe Zoey's just jealous."

  • Lola: "Yeah, Zoey, sometimes you gotta let people make their own mistakes and have experiences! It's all part of growing up."

  • Zoey walks in, looking for Dustin, and overhears.

  • Zoey: "Are you guys serious? You're defending this?"

  • Michael: "Well, Zoey, maybe you were a little harsh. He's just trying to find his way, be cool."

  • Chase: (Hesitantly) "Zoey, he has a point about wanting a bit more freedom. Maybe you are a little overprotective sometimes."

  • Quinn: (Adjusting her glasses, slightly misinformed) "From a purely observational standpoint, social experimentation is common in adolescence. Perhaps restricting him too much is counterproductive."

  • Zoey: (Voice trembling with anger and hurt) "Freedom? 'Social experimentation'? He was smoking unknown chemicals and drinking something way too strong for him with someone who encourages bad behavior! That's not 'fun,' that's dangerous! I can't believe you're calling me a buzzkill for trying to protect my brother!"

  • She looks at Chase, betrayed. "Especially you, Chase."

  • Zoey storms out, leaving her friends looking a bit sheepish but still mostly siding with Dustin's "need for fun." Dustin smirks, feeling vindicated.

Act II: The Consequences & The Realization

  • B-Plot: Logan, inspired by Dustin's "rebellion," tries to create his own "edgy" persona, which hilariously backfires (e.g., trying to dye his hair black with shoe polish and it turning green).

  • Zoey, feeling isolated, researches "Wicked X Herbal Incense" and "Four Loko" on her laptop. She finds alarming articles about the dangers of synthetic cannabinoids and high-alcohol/caffeine drinks.

  • Meanwhile, Dustin, feeling emboldened, meets up with Trisha again. He tries more of the Wicked X, trying to impress her.

  • Suddenly, Dustin starts feeling dizzy, nauseous, and his heart races. He gets scared.

  • Dustin: "Trisha... I don't feel so good."

  • Trisha: (Rolling her eyes) "Oh, don't be such a baby. It's just the buzz." But even she looks a little concerned as Dustin turns pale.

  • Dustin stumbles away, terrified, and makes a beeline for Zoey's dorm, knowing deep down she's the only one who can help.

  • He finds Zoey, looking panicked. "Zoey... help me... I think... I think you were right." He collapses onto her bed, looking terrible.

  • Zoey's anger melts away, replaced by fear for him. She calls for campus security/nurse.

Later:

  • Dustin is recovering in the PCA infirmary, looking pale but stable. Zoey is by his side.

  • Chase, Lola, Michael, Quinn, and Nicole arrive, looking worried and ashamed. Logan trails behind, his hair still slightly green.

  • Quinn: (Holding a printout) "I... I did some research after you left, Zoey. That 'Wicked X' isn't harmless. It's a synthetic cannabinoid with unpredictable and dangerous side effects. And the combination with that high-alcohol energy drink is particularly risky for someone Dustin's age. You were absolutely right to be concerned."

  • Lola: "Oh my gosh, Zoey, we're so sorry. We were being so stupid."

  • Chase: "Yeah, Zoey. I messed up. I should have listened to you. 'Fun' isn't worth this."

  • Michael: "We're really sorry we called you a buzzkill."

  • Logan: "Yeah, Brooks. Guess some 'fun' is just... dumb." (He tugs at his green hair).

  • Dustin looks at Zoey, tears in his eyes.

  • Dustin: "I'm so sorry, Zoey. I was an idiot. You were just trying to look out for me, and I called you a buzzkill."

  • Zoey: (Takes his hand, a small, tired smile) "It's okay, Dustin. I was scared. But it's not about being a buzzkill; it's about wanting you to be safe and make smart choices. There's a difference between having fun and being reckless."

Final Scene:

  • A few days later. The gang is at Sushi Rox. Dustin is drinking a smoothie.

  • Dustin: "You know, this mango smoothie is actually pretty good. And no weird side effects."

  • Everyone laughs.

  • Lola: "So, the Beach Bonanza is still on! And my biodegradable glitter arrived!"

  • Zoey: (Smiling genuinely now) "Sounds like actual fun."

  • Chase gives Zoey a supportive look. The group dynamic is restored, and a valuable lesson has been learned.

  • Freeze Frame: The group laughing, with Zoey and Dustin sharing a genuine smile.

(End Credits with a PSA-style graphic: "Herbal Incense can be dangerous. Know the facts.")
