YOOO what's good guys, this'll be my second blog on the wonderful site we call SpaceHey. if you read my last blog, or Random Thoughts Power Hour Blog #1, you probably expected this blog to be RTPHB #2 or something. or maybe you weren't, i don't care, this is just for my personal enjoyment and i'll do what i want, like sharing my cooking tips and preferences with yall!
this is yet another page taken straight out of my physical journal i have with me, and what better way to share it than through an old-fashioned, classic blog? probably Instagram reels or a TikTok nowadays, but this feels right to me. ANYWAYS, here's just a few of my personal cooking tips and preferences:
- not sure how to cook your eggs for breakfast? i personally like pan-frying them on medium-high heat with a solid amount of olive oil. that'll give them that crispy, brown edge that complements your bacon and toast well. this is a very simple and common cooking tip for perfect sunny side up eggs.
- can't have breakfast without a nice cup of coffee, but if you frequently work out or have some sort of athletic lifestyle like me, replace that creamer with some vanilla protein powder. i find it to be a nice substitute to help you hit your protein intake right after waking up, although you may wanna watch how your stomach reacts because coffee and protein are a dangerous combo for your gastrointestinal system. just have a restroom ready for your protein coffee shits before getting on with your morning.
- find different ways to repurpose your pasta water after cooking that fettuccine (or whatever your preferred pasta is). for instance, you can use it to steam your vegetables to have a flavorful side to your pasta. if you're making homemade sauce or soups, consider using your leftover pasta water instead of using new water. pasta water is flavorful, acts as a thickening agent, and creates a smooth texture for your cooking purposes. repurposing pasta water is also a good way to promote no-waste cooking!
- maybe you want a nice salmon filet to go with that pasta dish of yours. my favorite way to cook salmon is to cook it like a steak! pat the salmon dry and score the skin before seasoning it with salt, pepper, and olive oil. that way, the seasoning will embed itself deeper into the salmon and that skin will crisp up nicely in the pan. cook the salmon skin side down first into an oiled pan on medium heat before flipping over to the other side. then, lower the heat and add some butter, thyme, rosemary, and crushed garlic to the pan, basting all that goodness over the salmon as it cooks. be sure to not overcook the salmon, you want it to be lightly pink and not gray. take it out, let it rest, and enjoy!
there you have it, some of my personal cooking tips and preferences! writing simple shit like this in my journal or blog is refreshing, i'm not one for thinking deep thoughts often as you can probably tell. if you have some cooking tips, preferences, or recommendations you wanna share, leave a comment on this blog, i'm open to new methods and ideas. but again, this is just for my personal enjoyment, and i don't really care if you don't like it or not lmao. see you guys next time :)

luv to see some cooking tips on here. I wanna add that, if you´re making a steak or any kind of red meat add beer o red wine when cooking, adds a little extra flavor ¿;
yes!!! i love this tip, adding red wine also helps tenderize the meat and softens the fat cap so it's not as tough and bitter. thanks for sharing!
