I struggle with an anxiety disorder, and I know it can feel so lonely and scary. Honestly, it has ruined my life. However, here are some ways I calm it. Some are common, some are spiritual, etc.
- Standing barefoot in the grass
- Sitting in the sun
- Journaling
- Listening to music (REALLY listening. Close your eyes and immerse yourself into the melody, the beat, the lyrics.)
- Tensing my body (sometimes from feet to head, but also just tensing my feet and my hands helps)
- Meditating (I know everyone says this, but I swear by it. It has helped me so much. I advise trying it, whether you use a guided one or you just sit in silence.)
- Coloring books
- Praying to your god/gods (if you're religious it can help. Personally I'm pagan. I often pray to mother nature, or the greek gods.)
- Reading
- Tea
- Crystals (if you believe. They have energy that can help you regulate yourself. For anxiety, I recommend amethyst, citrine, any kinds of quartz, lapis, fluorite, and black tourmaline.)
- Sleeping
- Snuggling with my cat or watching my fish
- Talking about it to my plants. Even the trees. They listen.
- Speaking of trees, hug them! For me it helps a ton. Trees have a ton of energy.
- And last but not least, don't be afraid to just take ur anxiety meds if u have them. I don't like taking meds, but if none of these coping mechanisms are helping me, it's okay to take them. Thats why they're there <3

i love this!!!! i also love being barefoot outside. theres scientific proof that it does actually have healing properties, both mental and physical, from the electromagnetic energy in the ground :3 its called grounding/earthing
listening to music with healing tones (like heilung) WHILE standing barefoot or sitting on the ground is a godly experience
