Hiiii! I love 'What's in my bag?' videos + I just wanted to show off some of my things
Edit: holy shit where are my pictures I'm gonna cry. Whatever, I've linked them in too at least.
First, the bag:
This is my everyday bag, it's (most likely fake) Tokidoki x Lesportsac. It doesn't look like any of the ones online; plus, as someone who's pretty familiar with the Tokidoki characters, this is definitely... off. I thrifted it, so I'm not too upset about this, lol. You get what you pay for. The plastic bits on the strap keep breaking, and one's been replaced with a carabiner. I dress quite dark, so this bag doesn't usually go with my outfit, but I don't mind just because it's so cute.
I also have a little (real) Tokidoki Cactus Dog keychain from Daiso. I love the Cactus Friends collection so much, my favourite is Cactus Rocker, but they don't have her as a keychain (sad). I got him before the bag, so I knew he had to go on it.
I also have my flower claw clip. I want to say I had these before everyone started buying them, but I don't think that's actually true. My favourite one in the pack of 5 (the red-pink one) broke, sadly. My hair is just getting long enough again for me to clip it up now. They're so cute and Summery, and I better see them being worn again this year because they're too adorable to be a micro-trend.
Left front pocket contents (left to right; top to bottom):
- Dead moth - A dead moth.
- Notebook and pen - A small notebook that I got from my university, it has my school name on the front, which is why it's turned over. The little collapsible pen didn't come with it but it's so nice to be able to write things down if I have to.
- Junk book - Bought at a local craft market, I stick movie tickets, fruit stickers, tea bag tags, and drink receipts in it. It also has small photos and a "Long Live Print" sticker (secretplanet.ca) from another market. My stamps usually go in here too.
- Stamps - International and Canadian Permanent. I send a lot of physical mail, and if I keep my stamps in my purse, I always know where they are.
Right front pocket:
- Pads
- Tampons
- Liners
Main compartment:
- Digicam - Canon PowerShot. Been loving it recently. I think the flash adds to how photos feel. I have no real business using it instead of my phone camera, which is way more powerful, except for the novelty of it. I wanted one as a kid, too, so this isn't just me being a hipster.
- Pill case - Just in case! I try to keep Advil, Benadryl, and Gravol on me in case someone needs them. It's nice to be able to help. And it's Sanrio, of course, from Daiso.
- Fidget cube - I keep a fidget on hand for when I get antsy or overexcited. Usually it's a small pop-it, but I both lost it, and find it a bit noisy.
- Mint tin - Mints shaped like planchettes inside a Ouija board tin. Not my favourite because they release a cloud of white powder when I open the tin, but they were a gift, so I will finish them for the tin.
- Reusable tote bag - Huge Hello Kitty bag. It's almost never actually in my purse because it's always full of stuff that I don't put away.
- Wallet - I always carry the shittiest dollar store wallets, I love them. I like my wallets to be small, and the last time I spent more than a couple of dollars on one (Hot Topic), it had a manufacturing flaw that made 1/3 of the compartments useless. I do miss my old camo one, but it didn't fit my card well.
- Maxpedition case - This is where the pen in my front pocket is from. It also has a little cable and a flashlight. This also holds a bunch of Sanrio band-aids (Miniso) just in case. They're cuter than the Sanrio band-aids anywhere else, and I don't often use them for anything super serious, so I can worry about how they look.
- Oil blotting sheets - Even though my face gets oily really easily, I don't use these as often as I probably could; I mostly just use this for the little compact mirror inside. (Miniso)
- Sunglasses - Also dollar store. I think they're kind of brat, but they were also, like, $3. They work and they look fine on me, and that's all I'm concerned about.
- Wired earbuds - These were super handy when I had an online course because I could do it on campus without bothering anyone. I can't find the model online, but they're Moondrop in-ear monitors. They work fine, my only real issue is that the velcro band that keeps the cord tied up sticks to the interior of the velvet storage bag.
- Charger - I also have a lightning cable with it, but it wouldn't cooperate for the flatlay. I've had my phone for a while, so when I have a full day of classes, I know I'll probably need to stop and charge it somewhere at some point. Now I could probably just borrow one from student services on campus, but when I bought my own, it was because I lost my student card and couldn't borrow from student services.
- Moisturizer - Basic CeraVe, my face gets really dry during the day sometimes, and it's nice to have a cute little pot of moisturizer on hand.
Whew! That's a lot. Except that's only maybe half of what's in my purse. I saved the fun stuff for last.
- Hand cream - I ended up loving this a lot more than I thought I would because I just bought one that looked decent at Miniso. It smells nice, it's nice and sheer, and it doesn't leave your hands feeling oily. I endorse this enthusiastically.
- Loop earplugs - I got these before I started University because I wanted to accommodate myself as best I can, if that makes sense. I wanted to make the transition to Uni as easy as possible, and help myself be less overwhelmed in new buildings and situations with new people. I have the Engage Equinox models, and ironically, I haven't used these at school much at all. But they're good for making your surroundings quieter without blocking out people talking to you or anything else important. They also just fit nicely... I'm not a brand ambassador, I swear, but I'd love to be one.
- Midol - Midol pills are too large to fit in my little Sanrio case, but still essential to carry for both me and anyone else who might need them.
- Ballon dog charms - This is an oddball, sort of like the dead moth. I bought these because I just thought they were cute, but I started using them to 'manic pixie dream girl' more joy into my life during finals season. I started giving them away inside of fistbumps to my classmates and leaving them at the Starbucks pickup counter when I get my drink.
- Tissues - My nose runs like crazy, I think I'm really sensitive to changes in air temperature or something.
- Fruit snacks - In case I get hungry. It's nice to have a snack on hand, but I always forget about them, and I'm pretty sure the contents of that pouch have turned into a single megagummy. But I'll eat it eventually, I'm sure.
- More gravol ginger - ??? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
- Condom - You never know. Practice safe sex + you're not supposed to keep them in your wallet.
- Lip balm - These ones are Burt's Bees, and I'm just trying to get through them honestly. I'm a Carmex stick girl generally. I like the finish better, personally. These aren't bad, though.
- Eyeliner pencil - Very good for on the go, because I can just wing it out and clean it up with my fingers. I've done my liner on the train more than once with this, and it's also a twist-up liner, so I don't have to carry a sharpener with me. It's Burt's Bees too, but I got it in a gift bag, so I'm sure any other twist liner would work just as well.
- Lip gloss - I love Mac and I love a twist-up gloss. This is the MAC cosmetics Squirt Plumping Gloss Stick. It's simple, it's tinted, it plumps, and it's so handy to not have to fuss with a lip gloss wand on a busy train or while walking. Would look great with a dark lip liner, I'm sure, but I lost mine somewhere...
Not pictured here:
- Lip Liner - miss her...
- Fingerless gloves - I just took them out for the Spring because the weather isn't calling for them anymore, but good in the winter. I would never remember which jacket I put them in, so they went in my purse instead. Fingerless so I can use my phone to check directions and text, obviously.
- Folding fan - I bought a My Melody and Kuromi Waterproof fan, and I have no idea where I put it. But I will be using and carrying it with me when I track it down. I keep thinking of how nice it would be to have every time I get too warm.
- Hand sanitizer - Every single time I buy hand sanitizer in little bottles, I manage to misplace them. I put the bottle somewhere, and then I don't know where the extra bottles are either. But I am constantly in situations where it would be nice to have.
- Gum - I love gum. I prefer it to mints for keeping my breath nice, and I also like being able to chew on it absentmindedly. I find myself clenching my jaw a lot, so I think gum is helpful in that regard. Plus, I feel like a judgmental/sassy tv character sometimes with it. I know consciously that aspartame is bad for me, but that Pur brand gum has an odd texture, and I'm not a fan.
Yes, I actually carry this much shit with me. I actually cleaned my bag out for this, so I usually carry more in the form of receipts and coupons.
Anyways, if you're still here, thanks for listening to me ramble about my things. I love seeing little bits of someone's life through their belongings, so I hope you also felt the same way. Not to farm engagement but purely out of curiosity to anyone who's read this far, what's something you always carry with you that I don't have here? I'd love to know what else I should consider keeping with me. <3
