So, for the first time in my 18 years of living, I did a school walkout. It wasn't a protest or anything, really. The story is, we couldn't do our normal senior prank - we would steal a chicken statue and put it on the roof of the gym - so, instead, some kids brought younger siblings, cousins, relatives, etc. The kids were "confiscated" and sent back to their schools or picked up by guardians. However, because like always, the seniors felt like their fun had been squashed, and as a last minute decision, had a class wide walkout. My boyfriend informed me of this literally seconds after he found out, and so, we decided to walk out too. I ended up walking out with him and a friend. We don't have a car so we just. Yeah. Walked. A security guard shouted that none of us would walk at graduation if we did the walkout, but obviously, he wasn't being serious. Literally like 5 kids stayed at school and did not participate whatsoever. Most kids went to the lake, but us three went to the plaza and went to a local donut shop? We did not buy any donuts, btw. Only a Coke, taro milkshake, and frap. After walking this far, I realized my mom was still in town, and even as an adult I am fucking terrified of that woman's wrath. As I was sipping down my taro drink, I found out that the police were at the lake, K9 and all, searching people's cars. People had alcohol, weed, vapes, all an angsty freshman's dream. I sighed a breath of relief at myself that we didn't catch a ride, but then I realized - what if they were all over the town? I started panicking.
Like, really panicking.
I started overthinking like always, thinking that if it wasn't being able to walk at graduation, it would be getting arrested for some shit that normally wouldn't happen - something like kidnapping or child endangerment as I'm the oldest of us. Our friend decided to go home after saying it was okay and my boyfriend called another friend to pick us up and take us back to school. We were gone an hour and a half at most, but it was still unnerving to be technically "missing" to the school. We came back 15 minutes before lunch started, and fuck, it was so weird. Like 2 people in the class, excluding the aide, teacher, and us.
After drinking down my taro and playing Fruit Ninja on Coolmath, I felt better. Mom didn't bring it up at all, so I think I got away with it. Oh yeah, a tight bear hug from my boyfriend helped too. ,,^ ^,, Now to calm down more and eat my mexican food LOL
