Okay, so when most people get flip phones, it's a "dumbphone" that doesn't really do much beyond the bare necessities. However, I'm getting a flip phone because I really, really don't like touchscreen. It's a bane to my feeble existence, especially because I have nails and I hate not being able to tap something because of it. I've always preferred an actual keypad or keyboard I can touch and feel, because I can remember where all of the keys are and type a coherent sentence without looking, unlike my dumb iPhone 12. It's also difficult to have any sort of customization for iOS, I'm not willing to put in more effort than I need to just because I want a better experience that probably won't improve at all. I'm gonna get one of those Samsung Folders from 2017, as it's recent enough to run most things I would want on a phone, and it's cute. It's just a flip-smartphone, and that's kind of what I need. I don't have the phone numbers of everyone I know, unfortunately, so I'd have to start collecting them fast. I think the only Apple products I'll use beyond this point would be an iPod Mini or some newfangled iPad for my art stuff that all of the teenyboppers of the next generation will be nostalgic about. Ironic, because that's the same thing I'm doing, isn't it?
I was considering buying a keitai, but I'm from hamburger-muncher land, so I don't think those would work much here. I'm super hopeful about the Samsung Folder. I'm gonna decorate it in rhinestone stickers and cute stuff when I get it. Obviously, I'm gonna customize it the best I can too. I don't care much for social media but I'd still like to have it just for the occasional 15 minute doomscroll on Pinterest.

I used to have one of those modern Nokia flip phones back in 2021. And opening and closing it was so satisfying. But I found texting on it hard and at the time I texted a lot on my phone. Also I wish more flip phones with android were available in western markets because Kai OS isn't the best for more demanding use cases such as storing a lot of photos and can't run a lot of popular apps. Also good luck with your flip phone.
thank u! and yeah i'm trying to limit myself to android OS, doesn't have to be google or samsung but i'd prefer the operating system. i've used others beyond iOS and android and they were not my fav LOL

A work around for certain phones not working with American sim cards might be using your iPhone as a hotspot for your flip phone. I only have one sim that I'm too lazy to keep swapping between phones so I usually just use my iPhone as a portable wifi router lol. This works with Aquos flip phones but I'm not too sure about other brands. As long as the phone can connect to wifi/has bluetooth it should work
that's true! i'm considering that knowing that 4g might be done for good in the next couple of years.. maybe not, i'll hold hope lol

That's an awesome alternative to modern phones! If you do end up getting one make sure to blog about it!

I've thought about doing that too. Modern social media has gotten exhausting to deal with.
