GoodWill Finds

hi! i'm beedog and i work at goodwill. we get a lot of absolutely dumb shit in and i love doing nothing more than anything that isn't my job, so i'll be cataloguing and rating my finds and purchases here! some of it is neat, some of it-- a lot of it, really-- is stupid.

let's start with yesterday's acquisitions:

Sony Walkman S2 D-SJ301 - $20 before discount

i'm incredibly fond of this one. lately, especially the last five or six months, i've been actively working to acquire stuff that i consider aero or y2k that aligns with my hobbies. i happen to love collecting physical media of all varieties and i also love this specific era of sony's design language, so its like the stars aligned with this one!

she's far from perfect, for sure, but once i repaint the clamp it'll be more than good enough for me. it's fully functional and looks damn good too!

set of five 100MB Zipdisks, sealed - $6 before discount

not much to say on this one, its a super cool find, i love weird physical media, and these are my first ever zipdisks! but in the same sense i was quite hopeful maybe they'd have donated the drive as well since those are incredibly expensive these days for no real reason.

i'm sure i'll wind up caving and buying a zipdrive eventually (especially in that beautiful translucent blue!), but until then i just have a little box of five zipdisks sitting on my desk to look pretty

Shrek "i'm makin' WAFFLES!" sleep shorts - $5 before discount

i mean truly, why would you EVER donate something like this? this has to be some kind of relic, right? if i owned these i'd wear them everywhere at all times to flaunt them like the absolute gem they are. i can only assume the former owner either died or was forced to forfeit them at gunpoint.

unfortunately, i don't wear shorts, and someone else bought them before i got off of work. godspeed, Shrek sleep shorts. godspeed

i feel like i used too many horizontal scales but i don't know how to get rid of them so this entry will remain ugly.

i intend to post at least one new strange item every day i work, so expect more from here on out-- goodwill is absolutely full of gems!
