Interpreting Dreams

I just began reading The Interpretation of Dreams by Sigmund Freud today. Sigmund Freud is a pretty wacky dude to say the least, I won't go too deep into that here though :P
But I always was interested in my dreams I had, I used to keep a physical dream journal to document these dreams but I haven't updated it in years. Particularly because I didn't really do much with them, I just scribbled them down & moved on with my day. Recently though I've had a renewed interest in dreams mainly because of my interest with the Surrealist art movement. On my profile & other select social media sites I describe myself as a Surrealist as I resonate heavily with the movement's championing of the unconscious & illogical in making art. I want to become a filmmaker or writer but I struggle to be creative because my regular consciousness is too critical & safe. I just want to be able to let the floodgates open & create freely. Despite me saying all this, I still haven't applied this way of thinking to my own creations yet, but luckily my local bookshop stocks the aforementioned Interpretation of Dreams, a work that was heavily influential on the Surrealists, so hopefully when I finish reading it & maybe further study it, I will have a good foundation on what I can do creatively with things such as my dreams.
I also just found out this category dedicated to dreams exists on here, so maybe I will start a digital Dream Journal here & allow the public to read & discuss my dreams aswell xD
That was a bit of a rant but I wanted something posted to my blog since I don't want to be just lurking on here all the time. I hope you all have a nice day c:
