Oldies Station by Twenty One Pilots; and the strength of not paying attention.

Here's a fun story;

The song Oldies Station by Twenty One Pilots was released on the album Clancy on May 24th 2024.

When I first reacted to the album, I personally thought this song was a snoozefest, it was the only song on the album by then where I truly wanted to just skip ahead, and for about 2 months after I thought the same, I didn't listen to it, it was BORING.

But when I was going to and in Sweden there was so much time where I was just sitting down either on a plane, or on a train for AGES, and a lot of time I just wanted to let music play, and a few times the Spotify shuffle would give me my personal hell and play that song...

I'd almost always skip it, or turn it down, or actually talk to my family while it was on, but I remember one time in particular that it came on I wasn't really paying attention to what was playing, but then I heard that "Relative pain!" lyric play, and thought it was well, sort of interesting?

At the time I actually got these goosebumps from the sound, which wasn't normal so I decided to keep letting it play, this time I fell in love with the song, especially the "push on through" part in the bridge, and just like that this became a song I loved, and started playing on purpose, and even more so it is now probably one of my favorite Twenty One Pilot's songs, a song that when I first heard, I despised.

I think this show's the strength of sometime's not letting your first opinion consume you, the reason it took so long for me to appreciate the song is because the first time I listened to it, I was bored (partially due to it's weird spot in the album). and then all I could think about was that first impression, so my little blog here show's 2 sides I guess, the power of a first impression, but also the power of not letting that first impression stay stuck with you, so here's a little tip, there's this song you think you hate? Just try again, and maybe your opinion will change, and maybe it won't.

But atleast you gave it another chance :)
