i see a lot of 2000s nostalgia, y2k aesthetic, romanticising and WISHING we could go back to it - why can't everyone start dressing like this again? oh i wish i was able to experience the early internet...imaging carrying around an mp3 player and wired headphones! emo older brother aesthetic, minecraft on the PS3 or Xbox 360, CD collections and discmans, sparkly clothes and leopard print, clubbing and dancing to 00s music, living unplugged until you're home again - ugh i wish it could still be that way ://
it just can be
you can't wait for other people to want to do things - you have to learn to be content with yourself and your own desires and fight the insecurity that makes you want to assimilate.
i cancelled my streaming services this year, and i have an mp3 player that i carry around with me. i'm reparing my childhood iPod classic. i've deleted social media from my phone and i'm starting to only use it on my computer (this is a really important thing that i would recommend everyone tries), my digital camera is from 2005 and takes the cutest photos (attached some from my uni days lol, despite their appearance these are all 2021/22!) and i have so many CDs and records now its a problem
if you want the world to be a certain way you have to be willing to make it so - so get on ebay and buy a shitty graphic vest top from 03' and wear it proudly :p
these are from before i realised i'm a butch, but don't get it twisted i still glitter my shit like crazy

I wish I could live like In the 2000's but it's hard for me, i can't delete TikTok cs I have friends there and I'm too shy to ask them to chat somewhere else ahh
And about buying old stuff it's hard cs bro I'm broke and I don't have money :'(

it takes time! i have thrifted everything i have with whatever spare change i've got and its taken me years, the process is a part of it i promise
also, i still use tik tok and other social media apps - it is hard not to especially to keep in touch with friends! i just like to make little changes like only using spacehey/tumblr/etc. in brower :) helps me disconnect a bit
you can also try to declutter your phone of all the unnecessary distraction apps - i deleted most apps i had and made a nice custom layout that looks similar to older models - there's tons you can do just with what you have :)

ilove living in 2000 s lol in my diary i write date minus 20 its 2005 now and im having a blast, my cds are coming in the mail and im getting labret soon, when i get on my space i post countdown to it XDDDDLOL and my tiny mp3 player has some cool ass music

I 100% AGREE !!!!! sometimes u have to put in effort if ur rly serious about returning back to ye olden times. i’ve also deleted my socmed and collect cds and dvds and man life is so much more fun. the pics r so gorgeous i love it !!!
