Why I left Ximboland

Nothing really exciting happened today, so I thought I would do a different style of post.

On May 10, 2025, I decided to close my Ximboland account of 2-3 years, and I probably won't come back anytime soon.

For some context, the Internet Republic of Ximboland[formally the Internet Republic of Bimboland] is an online social media site/dress up game primarily marketed towards fashionable adults. Think of it like EverSkies, but more NSFW. The site was created in 2016 after the original site, Miss Bimbo, shut down.

I learned about the site in 2022 after watching Izzyzz's video on it. The game looked pretty fun, especially in comparison to most social media sites, so I made an account and played on and off for the next couple years.

Then, I log in on the 10th, and discovered that the site had been redesigned. The quirky, cartonny pink site had been replaced with a nuclear white and generic design. It did not look good. Now, before you type "why would you leave a site for a simple redesign?" the redesign wasn't the issue. It was the use of generate AI used for banners, and potentially other assets as well.

Something you should know about me is that I am a prominent generative AI hater. The details are best saved for another post, but the jist of it is that AI "art" is lazy, disingenuous, and is a form of art theft. The fact the developers believe that this is okay was the final straw for me.

Now, this wasn't the only issue I had with the site. The AI thing was just put the nail in the coffin.

The site is pretty buggy. There is an activity known as Dueling that you can do with other users. You can choose 1 of 3 other users and spin a wheel. The wheel has a variety of different stats, and whichever user has the higher stat wins the round. First to win 3 rounds wins the duel. Well, I started a duel with another user, and it was a tie game[2 to 2]. However, I had been unable to spin the wheel to continue the duel, and this had been an ongoing issue for at least a year now. I could have brought this up with support, but the support is practically useless, so what's the point. The issue is that you need to duel in order to complete your daily challenges and earn more BD[which we will touch upon later.]

The next issue is the current leadership. In Ximboland, a paid member[known as a senator] can run to become the Prime Bimbo[the equivalent of a president or prime minister.] However, since the site is so small, the PB for the last couple of months has been one of the founders of the site, known as Sweetasnuts. Sweetasnuts doesn't care about the site and often sees the userbase as disposable. He then gets mad when people don't buy currency or senatorships. He's also been known to do overly sexual roleplays with himself and attack other people who disagree with him. It looks very likely that he's going to be PB for the time being.

The final issue I had was the currency and economy of the game. There are two forms of currency found in Ximboland: Bimbo dollars and diamonds. Bimbo dollars are the standard currency that are earned by completing daily challenges, playing minigames, or sending your character off to work. Diamonds are the premium currency that is primarily gotten by spending real money[you can purchase BD with real money as well.] The issue is that you earn so little BD and that clothing, accessories, makeup and the like are far too expensive. It is done to force people to spend real money to get stuff to dress their character up with, the main draw of the game. I understand this to a degree since this is such a small niche game that is free to play, but this is getting into egregious territory. Not only that, but the creators who make the clothing etc. for the game don't even get a copy of their item for free. And when people complain, Sweetasnuts then harasses users for "being poor."

I've officially migrated to a sister site of sorts known as Like a Fashionisa. It is more like the original Miss Bimbo created by the original developers of Ma Bimbo[the french version] Beemoov.

To conclude this post, I just want to state that I don't hate Ximboland, I just hate how it's being run. The userbase has been nothing but amazing. It's just that the heads of the site don't care.
