YouTube Videos that I LOVE

Having a hard time finding something to watch while you eat? Need a fun & cool video to wind down to? Here are some YouTube videos that I recommend!

YouTube is a host to all sorts of content. From commentary on your favorite films, music and games to hour long compilations of brain rot, YouTube is a great place to find whatever you're in the mood to consume. I really wanted to show off some of the videos that I've watched because they (along with their creators) deserve attention and love from as many people as possible.

If you enjoy Source Engine horror and creepy web series/gaming, you might like Crossfire_Fun by deathmatch67 and the first video I'm recommending. The series follows deathmatch67 and friends as he explores a strange custom Half-Life map. Spooky things ensue.

Crossfire_Fun: A Half-Life Mystery by Tedorate is a video on Crossfire_Fun (duh). The video outlines deathmatch67’s investigations/playthrough and offers a theory on what story is being shown. I enjoyed how Crossfire_Fun was presented in Tedorate’s video. There’s silly voice acting and witty commentary throughout the video that kept me engaged.

This next video that I’ll recommend inspired me to write this blog post. It was really refreshing for me. As time passes, I feel like it’s harder to find content that I haven’t seen already or that feature topics that haven’t been milked to death/reworded and regurgitated.

The Game That Killed It’s Creator by Douger Facts is a video that has to be watched without any prior context. If I were to fall down a flight of stairs, smack my head on each of the steps, and then get crushed by a grand piano causing memory loss, I would want someone to show this video to me again. A little dramatic of me to say all that, but I really love this video and I feel like the three people that’ll read this might like it too.

I’m going to group the last two video recommendations together because they’re both a part of my monthly rewatch list and I feel that they both have sort of a similar vibe. The Mystery of the Druids: A Bizarre Adventure Game by MandaloreGaming and Pathologic is Genius, And Here’s Why by Hbomberguy are videos that I could never get tired of seeing. It’s like these videos were laced with crack the way I keep coming back to watch.

MandalorGaming’s video is about a surreal adventure game. You play as a cartoonish British detective that’s tasked with solving a series of gruesome murders. MandalorGaming has this deadpan kind of humor/wit that never fails to make me giggle. When I first watched this video I had only briefly seen the levitating office guy meme, so when I finally saw its origin, it felt like I had gained a braincell. Hbomberguy’s video is about a (sort of broken) survival game. You can play as three different protaganists that must find a way to stop the plague that’s spread throughout their town. I love how passionate Hbomberguy is in this video. I’m always grateful that he suffered through playing this game so I didn't have to.

Some PC games are inaccessible to me as my MacBook wasn’t made for gaming. I’m basically living vicariously through both these creators as I come back each month to watch them talk about their play throughs of The Mystery of the Druids and Pathologic.

If you end up watching any of these videos and spiraling down a YouTube rabbit hole, please come back here to thank me let me know! Show some love and support to all the creators mentioned, rewatch their stuff obsessively like I do, and definitely pass their work along to someone you know. Good content is hard to come by, and when you find it, it's basically a moral obligation to yell about it online.
