man I love being a fan of something, just consuming all forms of media about that thing you so passionately love is such an indescribable feeling, like people are really missing out!
and lately I hear more people my age saying that they don't have hobbies or especially interests and I just wonder, how? like, what do you do in your free time if it isnt doing something you like to do like watching a show or reading a book or cooking or sporting, because those are all interests, and in there you have persons who you follow or books or documentaries, like its endless!
and I just find it so weird because when I ask them, what do you do then? they answer with "just going on tiktok and insta" how has that become a way to spend our free time endlessly? I dont judge the fact that they scroll on tiktok and insta, because I do that too, I love watching my fave edits and memes, but that is not the only thing I ever do in a day besides my chores and duties, and it scares me that so many young people are leaning to that, just endlessly and mindlessly consuming mainstream media, that is true brainrot and a great way to underdevelop your brain
we are losing authenticity so fast, being original is still getting seen as weird, people are only wanting to consume consume consume, take take take, why arent we giving anymore?
we find our joy in giving, because when we give, we take. you search a youtube video up you like, you enjoy watching the film! you go outside to view your favourite plants in the park, you enjoy! the video shouldnt come to you, the park also shouldnt!
this sedentary lifestyle thats getting advertised to us is not luxury, its slow death.
with all this a.i. crap and "making your life easier!" were just making it all worse, we're so close to experience WALL-E
please guys never stop being yourself, thats the best you could ever be!

These apps are just set up that way, it's like being surprised people get badly addicted to gambling and casinos.
Pretty depressing that kids our age are falling for it, though - even more depressing that they don't really have a choice. YouTube is almost necessarily as an information source. Youtube shorts are the first thing to show up when searching. Only way to get around it is to use something like ScreenZen, and interrupt the half-conscious clicking. I like it a lot - it doesn't stop you from watching, only makes you pause before you open it. Gives you time to judge whether you actually want to spend time there.
Along with that, it's becoming everyone's primary coping mechanism for their sad, standardized, pre-paved life and unprocessed emotions
It's so, so easy for your entire life to become being a profit for whichever filthy rich dude owns the preferred platform.

this is so real! it is such an immense joy to be able to experience things you love and it confuses me so much that people would rather rot away mindlessly scrolling on social media feeds 24/7 than doing something that makes them happy. even if its not making them the happiest they have ever been, i think people should learn about how tranquil and fun it can be to just experience life and existance in all its shapes and sizes.

I agree!! Especially with the ai stuff although it depends on where or how you use it.
Ai is pretty alright if it is to help humans and not replace them, like its good to use as a study buddy, though the water it consumes is insane and real bad,,, what examples do u have? :0

Exactly. We should use ai to help us with irrelevant stuff not to replace something like academics and art!! AI should assist us not do everything for us to the point we depend to them so much. Do you know drew gooden? He is my favorite commentary youtuber and he has great takes in ai!!
