Apparently im a victim of abuse but im the last to know!?

Ok so turns out everyone else figured out this dynamic between me and some of my family members (not nameing names) growing up were like abusive or something? Like apparently it was kinda obvious to everyone else BUT ME??? (0-0)

How this all came about was me inviting my bf over and then we accidentally fell asleep in the same room, and then we got a bit of a bolocking (we weren’t hit or anything, we were just verbally abused, and i was almost smacked, the usual) and when he got home, he told his gran who is a social worker for kids in abusive families and he told me over phone that i was abused, then i was like nah u is just dramatic, and then he got me to list off things that have happened in the past to me with my fam, and suddenly it clicked. O_o

Then i was sent into a extistential crisis the next day, I told my friends about my conniption because my family do a lot of nice things for me and are lovely, and they were like “yeah it doesn’t really matter if they’re nice they are, it doesn’t change the fact that they have been abusive towards you.” And then I tell my friends who ive known for years and have met my family multiple times and they were like “yeah we kinda already figured that out but we didn’t really wanna say anything,” GIRL WHAT- >:(

YOURE TELLING ME THAT AFTER ALL THESE YEARS IVE BEEN GOING THROUGH THIS, WHY AM I THE LAST TO KNOW I WAS ABUSE TF! >:0

I’m not even mad about it i just find it so rediculous that this sounds like a plot of a comedy or sitcom running joke or some type shit.

I think I’m gonna take up drinking (-~-)
