ego dais 1 : media literacy

it feels like the more in-tune you become with the media you consume, the more people around you look like morons who are extremely easy to please. it's not that i enjoy seeming like some snob who's above everyone, especially because it makes it harder for me to enjoy watching tv or whatever. but the more i learn about media literacy the more consistently shocked i am to see people genuinely enjoying bottom-dollar slop like it's the best, most innovative thing in the world. and the hard part is that sometimes people's heads are dug so deep down that they can't critically think for themselves about anything for more than a minute so media with actual purpose either gets misunderstood or goes completely over them, the actual purpose getting lost. the way people consume content, everything feels so lame now
