20 weeks of paramore - week 10 - this circle

“take this time, to realize…”

week 10! officially halfway through. sorry once again for a late post, school has been tough recently. this week’s song is off of the ~rare and elusive~ summer tic ep, this circle. for a long time, this was my favorite “b-side” song. i don’t know if this is exactly the right way to put it, but the “emptier” sound of this song always struck me as very unique within paramore’s [early] discography. 

i’ve noticed that there’s mainly two different versions of this song out there? one with a continual guitar part, and one without. i personally prefer the one without, as i thought the added guitar component was sort of distracting. and it seems the one without is the official version after all? 

the lyrics are fairly straightforward— the singer is confronting the listener for their lack of action towards conflict or decisions in their life. instead of addressing problems, they run away or dance around them, never truly closing such chapters in their days. but eventually, there will come a time where they must, and the singer is warning them of such.

thanks for reading! hope you like the song. this one is one of my first must-shares (on my end) when ppl want to listen to more niche paramore songs. (though why it took me this long to get to it, i don't know...)
