S*lvia Rant

Before I say anything: IVE NEVER DONE SALVIA. Nor am I promoting, glamorizing, or demonizing the use of psychedel!cs. But spending a few years going down rabbit holes, analyzing salvia reports, I can't help but think people have been seeing and using salvia in the wrong way, ultimately creating this demonized picture of this plant that scares the shit out of people, including me. 

Historically, salvia is native to the Sierra Mazateca in Oaxaca, Mexico. The Mazatecs viewed it as a divine, healing herb that can bring people into contact/gain knowledge with the spiritual realm and treating various illnesses. Generally, they're used in healing ceremonies. However, the Mazatecs used salvia differently than how it's used now. In fact, they ingested few leaves, creating subtle effects. Unlike how we see people now packing fatass b0ng rips of 100x, making people lose their minds, even making someone jump out of a 5th story window, permanently paralyzing their feet (saidthewhale420 r/salviastories). I could rant about this shit all day and talk about every story I've heard because the stories are endless.

For some reason, I am a fan. I love hearing these bizarre tales because they force me to question the real fabric of reality. I will never partake in such things, but without it, I feel like I've visited an alternate universe where the laws of physics are optional and everyone's best friend is a chair. It makes me think it isn't just a psychedelic, but a unconsious mirror buried deep inside the human brain. Not the kind that makes you jump out of windows when overusing it, but a type of mirror that points at your soul and laughs in binary, making you question your own consciousness, your own purpose, what you are, why you are, how you are, and who you are. And maybe thats why it scares the shit out of people. A lot of people and unawakened souls don't like to face their own shadows and mirrors in their current consciousness, so it would make so much sense how it could terrify the fuck out of people. Because what if, deep down, we know the mirrors aren't lying?
