Okay, we were a little late this evening, given that my internet connection really didn't seem to want to let me upload the video, not even in standard definition! Anyway, that nightmare's over, and we're here! Logbook Episode 28! Finally!

This week's Logbook Radio choice: 'Inaugural Trams' by Super Furry Animals (2009)
---
This week started off a lot cooler weather-wise! It's certainly been more of a mild and cloudy one, but then it warmed up towards the end of the week. As I write this, it's just been one of the hottest days so far, and it's only due to get hotter! So what's been going on?
Well, on Monday, myself and the Iddiekronie got together to design some cartoons for our backdrop, which we intend to use during our debut show on May 13th on Metronome's main stage! I've actually found myself enjoying the Iddiekronie more and more, not because I'm losing brain cells or anything, but because I've started making my own fun, or in other words, I've made a band which is rightfully mine a band that I want to be in - I've been actively taking a lot of control with the "heavy lifting" work, i.e. the tech rider, the videos, the diary entries, the designs, the album cover, the CD making etc. And it's been a lot of fun, and it's good practice for when I EVENTUALLY get the Tally-Ho off the ground.
Tuesday was the day of Celestine's first gig outside of university! And what a gig it was! Billy Bootlegger's seemed to love what we had to offer, and we didn't TOTALLY butcher Spirit Of Radio! Anyway, I really enjoyed it, and we got free drink tokens which was awesome! Even after a gig as exciting as that, nothing was quite able to beat the feeling of settling down with a hot drink at home afterwards, basking in the pure joy of it all! It was a really fun experience and I'm looking forward to all the future gigs we do. Apparently we have more coming up on May 30th and August 2nd, the latter of which may or may not be our first festival appearance! We'll just have to wait and see. It looks as if Jessie is looking forward to incorporating my song-writing into the band too, which is rather exciting too. In fact, he's looking at getting a composition from Wes into the mix too! Our next few singles ought to be eclectic and explorative, really pinning down our spectrum as a band. Of course no serious decisions (or any decisions for that matter) can be made unless they are the opinions of Jessie, so I'll keep my mouth shut for now! (For legal reasons, that's a joke, we all get along, don't worry!)
On Wednesday, I headed into the studio with the Iddiekronie to lay down the instrumental tracks for our demo CD, which we're hoping to flog a few copies of at our gig next Tuesday! It was, again, a super fun experience and we were able to network with more studio personnel and music production students that would be willing to work with us more and more in the coming months (and years at university!) which would suit me brilliantly if I'm planning to record proper live drums for my next solo album project, which I'm aiming to be all about the fun as opposed to the success (something I've never cared much for - it's music at the end of the day, who gives a damn if anyone's listening?). After such a tiring day, I flopped on my bed at home and barely slept a wink before the alarm woke me for the next day's rehearsal!
The Kaleidoscope Eyes was the band that awoke me and had me at Metronome for 10 o clock, ready to lock in with Caleb, the bassist and provide strong backing vocals for Sydney, the guitarist. With our set coming up on Monday, we were basically hoping to run through the set with no faults, which we were able to do on our second rehearsal that day, which set us on a good trajectory, ready not only for the live performance but for our studio work later next week. After a strong rehearsal, myself and Caleb b-lined to PMT, the closest (and seemingly the only) instrument store to look for a bass guitar pedal which he had had his eye on for some time. I took a quick gander at the acoustic guitars - still no twelve strings! I had a peek at the mixing desks too to remind myself of the prices - looks like I'll be going back at some point soon. What's that? Oh, no, not to buy, just to remind myself of the prices again, I've already forgotten.
On Friday, I rehearsed, again at 10, with Jess & Jess, Jessie's temporary band with another of our friends Jess (confused yet?). We ran through our four-song set for Tuesday's gig and we're now very much looking forward to blasting out Parklife the moment that the audience walk in for the gig! It seems that my costume for both Monday and Tuesday are to be largely the same, and I'm very much looking forward to wearing it - it's a black suit and tie! How exciting! I'm hoping to bring out the Beatles' look during Monday's gig and then the typical "newsreader" outfit on Tuesday. I reckon it will all work quite well! We'll again, just have to wait and see.
Apart from a family meal on Saturday and a couple of errands with the family, most of my weekend was spent editing and working on little bits and bobs on my jobs list. I'm hoping to tackle more of it next week - speaking of next week, I'll write to you again then! I think I've blabbered on for long enough!
Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoy the episode! Talk to you again soon! <3
