Saw 6 - This saw movie has the gun carousel, which is one of the most iconic traps in the series. I loved seeing health insurance workers get the comeuppance they deserve ( but I admit, it was haunting to see them beg for their lives). Hoffman full on pulling a Freddy on the police station makes me remember why some people call the Saw movies Slasher films. Overall, 8/10 would piranha again, dude.
Saw X - Brutal traps, even by Saw standards! They actually made me look away at some points, and the bone marrow trap especially made me squeamish. I liked the decision to put Kramer in one of the traps, it made the film feel like it actually had a fresh idea. Amanda had a neat outfit, but if I'm being honest, Shawnee Smith could rock anything. I actually hated the Scammer lady soooo much but she ends up being the only victim to survive in the end, witch probably has some deeper symbolism I'm too tired to figure out. Overall, 9/10, rip Gabriella, your death was undeserved.
Final Destination 3 - Wow! I never want o get on a roller coaster again, because the premonition sequence was so good. I mean, it was no Log Truck scene, but i came pretty close. I feel like the side characters in this one were a little more consistent, and I actually felt myself more invested in the main characters then in FD2. Sorry girl-in-fd2-whos-name-i-dont-remember, Wendy actually had a personality. Obviously, Ian was my favorite character (cmon, this is spacehey, of course i liked the edgelord). He had an....okay death, but him flipping the bird to Wendy post-mortem actually made me laugh out loud. The transition between the girls dying in the tanning room to their funerals was genius. Overall, 7/10, Roller coaster of loveeeee .(I cant wait for FD 6!)
Terrifier 2 - Whooh, this movie was exhausting, both in terms of its gore, and its sheer length. I mean, when I was watching it, I thought I accidentally clicked on the directors cut or something. Other people criticize its extensive gore, but i think the practical effects is its main selling point. But as someone who is an older brother, seeing the kid get hurt actually distressed me little. The scene with Siennas first friend being murdered was dragged on for waaaayyy to long. I thought Sienna defeating art with the Knife was a weird tone shift, like why did her dad give her a enchanted blade??? But this is a campy horror movie, so I cant really complain. Overall, 6/10 Rip to halloween store clerk, IG you weren't down with the clown.
