My skills timeline (plan of action)

any tips for any of the sessions would be appreciated :)

session 1

fabric painting, applying previous painting knowledge to a new medium 

session 2

How to make pleats, ribbons, add buttons and other embellishments

session 3

practice on alterations etc using hand sewing, practicing familiar skills 

session 4-5

sewing machine basics, stitch types, using the machine 

session 6

fabric types/ fabric gathering (from charity shops) 

session 7

basic tote bag, applying basic skills to a simple, manageable project 

session 8

taking measurements and using patterns 

session 9

basic tube top, applying basic skills to a more difficult project 

session 10

simple skirt, improving upon previous project 

session 11

combining the two into a practice dress of sorts, more complex practice to apply skills to final project + adding embellishments to the project e.g. painting designs, buttons, lace etc 

session 12

design sketching, making use of already strong sketching and drawing skills

session 13

fabric gathering for final project (from charity shops)

session 14,

pattern editing/ prep work 

sessions 15,16,17,18

sewing the garment, applying the skills I have learned into a final project 

sessions 19,20 

adding final touches and embellishments to the project, making use of skills learned in session 2
