My question again is WHY IS AI SO POPULAR? Like i don't get it. I feel like the only thing it does is ruin our brains and the abillity to think, i saw so many people use chat gpt or other ai sites to do their work that needs to be done. It genuinely got so bad that the teachers even encourage it. I feel like they do it just because they don't have the "power" to stop it.
Some examples why i don't like it: the brainrot on tiktok - i think it's just cringe and made for views (which it definetly is). Another one is something i already said, that is the easier way to do the work - i may be a hater at this point, but why don't teachers try to teach us something themselves or tell us other sites that could have the same info as chat gpt, nah they just take the easier route and tell others to use ai. The last example i wanna put out there is the environment, for some i can sound like some activist, but the new found information about how much power (or whatever it is) chat gpt uses to make a prompt is just horrible.
Anyway that was just my rant and opinion if someone want's to respectuflly argue with me go ahead i'll listen and maybe in some way my hate for ai will lessen. I am also sorry for the gramatic mistakes you may find (english is not my first language and my grammar overall is just bad).

TLDR: Al (in my opinion/in my use) is better for helping figure out a prompt to put into google, turning your human question into a question that might find you a better website
Hey, i agree a lot of people have been miss-using AI, buti dont see AI being inherently bad, i use it more as a conversation with someone as smart as google (you get what i mean) now ofcourse if your friend/teacher tells you something, you shouldnt inherintly believe them (ex. My math teacher was very accurate with mathmatical stuff so i wouldnt need to fact check them on that 99% of the time, but when they said they saw bigfoot, i had my suspensions, if an AI says something i have a decent understanding on my knowledge kinda fact checks its but if it starts to go into new territory youll have a good enough understanding to branch out & find websites that have better verified info..

I get that AI makes things easier, but it really should be used in moderation
I saw someone say they use it for ideas for art, but not to create it, and that’s probably the best way to use it
In actual career fields tho, like medical stuff, I think humans and AI could work together for the best results
but relying on AI for EVERYTHING is just gonna make ppl too dependent on it
of course, i agree with your point, it is true that in medical stuff it could be useful, but in moderation aswell (as you also said), i also feel like that in few years humans won't be able to do anything without it, i am worried about how people will get jobs and be good at them because of how frequently i see people use it.

I agree with other commentators.
It's just easier. and you can't blame people. AI uses two important mechanisms of our psyche:herd feeling and simplification of complex tasks.
but to be honest, I don't really care that ordinary people use it. after all, it can actually be useful for us. but when big companies lay off entire departments of employees, replacing them with AI, it's sad. Thousands of people are now losing their jobs because it's more profitable for companies to use a computer than hire people. and then these companies shift the responsibility onto the ordinary people
yes, i can't really argue with your points and i respect them, even agree with some, it's just sad that companies use AI rather than humans, it's quite the same about AI images they just copy multiple artists and use it in one which in my opinion makes quite souless art.

The only thing I support AI for is for medical stuff, like how it can detect cancerous tumors before it gets bad etc, but thats it.
Im in college and I study preschool pedagogics and holy hell, when I see teachers and even my classmates using AI generated images and use them to teach little children it makes my blood boil. Those poor souls are already being fed AI slop and theres nothing I can do. Even encouraging us to also use chatgpt to create the images and how amazing that is. Its not! The kids brains are slowly getting ruined. Even as an artist it makes me angry.
Im not innocent, I used chatgpt to help me to get some inspiration for activities for children but thats it, cant imagine using it for images or even use it as google since a lot of people are doing that, which is just stupid 3 or to write essays....
i actually agree with you! it's good for medical stuff that's true, i agree with every point you have made. I sadly have used chat gpt and some AI images when school forced me to because of an assignment so i am not really innocent either.
