The capacitors came in finally, only issue is trying to solder them in bc not only do i not have the equipment atm, but i have little to NO experience whatsoever. The board has a capacitor that looks either blown or rusted (i didn't even know that was even possible wtf) and the cpu is basically cooked on it as it doesn't want to POST, but that could be either or if im being honest. Currently waiting for the equipment to start the soldering, hopefully i don't fuck nothing up, last thing i want is to waste about 30 ish bucks on parts just to end up having to just replace the entire board (which is 90 dollars on ebay for that thing wtf dude)

How tf do i use a soldering gun LOL

The older it gets the more bizarre the prices on ebay get, and the more weird crap you gotta replace and fix
And don't worry, desoldering old crap is always horrendously difficult x-x
I had a bios battery kinda thing once, but it's like a weird button cell with pins and rechargeable lithium at that. One leg was huge, the other miniscule. That soldering EVENT took 3 days and in the end it was the biggest saddest botch job imaginable XD
I'm surprised it even works, but replacing the board would cost like 60 bucks... with probably another bad battery... so I'll leave it, it works, and hopefully won't catch fire
Also if the cap looks rusted, it might have leaked and corroded stuff
i apologize i haven't been using spacehey recently, but i attempted to try desoldering the capacitors and they just... WOULD NOT COME OUT, let alone even melt either, it looked really easy to do it. but its like whatever they used just would not melt AT ALL, and i can't just buy another due to the price being well over 100 bucks?

Flux. LOTS OF FLUX. I cannot stress enough how amazing and important flux is. Get a flux pen, press it onto the solder a few times, and it should melt immediately, also make sure your temps are set high enough.
I did have a similar issue too though at one point, it was mostly because the holes were so tiny though, I couldn't get any heat transfer to the spot. It was a shit show.
