Journal Entry #126: ...And Now It's May - 05/10/25

✦•················•✦•··················•✦

Okay, at least it hasn't been a full month since I've posted lol

To start with where I left off, my job has been going well. I've taken off a few days, one of which I spent touring a paper mill with the student org I work for. I received my first paycheck on Wednesday. Although what I do is quite menial, at least I have something to do over the summer. A job is a precious thing in times like these!

I did end up making a carrot cake, but I used Greek yogurt as frosting, and that essentially made it to where I couldn't store the cake properly. It hadn't even been in the fridge for a full day before it started to cause mold. Between these two blog posts, I also made some burnt peanut butter cookies and some barely sweet banana bread because I was too impatient with the bananas lol.

The last couple of days of classes went by quick. The weekend before finals week was sucky due to some health issues. However, I did get to try some sushi from Publix (it actually was pretty good). I also got some blueberry muffins but they're kinda mid, sorry. Blueberry muffins should be packed with juicy blueberries. These muffins really felt like they put a few in, added some blueberry flavoring, and called it a day.

Finals week was not fun. I had a bad schedule with two finals back-to-back both Wednesday and Friday morning. I've already gotten some results, and I'm not pleased. Please let me get a 3.0, my goodness. My Discrete Structures class is stuck at a C since I didn't do well on the optional final. Thankfully the final exam score won't affect my grade. Stats is stuck at a B is a tenth away from being rounded. Assembly is thankfully at an A, at like a 90.3 or something. Hopefully all of my other classes are Bs and above!

Yesterday, I came home to see my sister graduate, which was wonderful to see. The ceremony happened kinda late so I had a late night. It's been raining since I've been home and I'm already tired of it. The drive home was not fun as I normally drive on the interstate/highway in the morning, when there's fewer people out. Speaking of, I'm really interested to see what it will be like living in my college town during the summer. I'll try my best to take advantage of all the empty spaces. Although I'm currently back in my hometown, I partially can't wait to be back in my apartment. I have it all to myself! Even though it's the weekend, I can't wait until the next!

Today, I spent some money lol. I got a gift for my mom, and some stuff for myself. I finally got some more matcha; I ran out about a month ago. I also got myself some stainless-steel chopsticks and a nice green plate. Since I'll soon have to have my own supplies for the kitchen, I also got some nice faux glasses for matcha and other beverages, along with a green glass mug. I also got a nice bento set which I can't wait to use. It comes with its own silverware and should last longer than my old cheap bento box.

I also bought some instant Tonkotsu ramen and ate it with my new chopsticks. It was delicious. However, the packaging suggested that you add an egg, a cut of meat, or some fresh veggies. I do have some eggs back in my apartment, so now I have a use for those. I'm really curious what this summer holds for me, I really think it's going to be a good one.

I encountered this song last weekend: Katamari Damacy on The Rock's Main Theme. Holy moly, this slaps. It's so energetic; the electronic bass is infectious, the vocals and melodies are absolutely amazing. It's been a while since a song has made me feel this way.

Anyway, I need to rest more. Hopefully Mother's Day goes well :')

Boa Noite,
