ahhhh this was so good ! am I late on the fan train ? yes definitely but it's so worth it -so camp ! I love when movies show the decay and rot of Hollywood, the way it contrasts with all the glitz and glam ( especially in Babylon, what a masterclass ). Also one of the movie's theme is the American puritanism ( and ergo its hypocritical nature ), which was quite tumultuous in the 80's, what with their 'satanists are pushing rock music onto ur kids' and..... damn I think we're back to that time. But it's just the backdrop of the movie, so escapism is still intact. 

apparently it's part of a trilogy, with Pearl and 'X', and they all star Mia Goth, so I am going to go through all of those this week ( truly the bliss of being the unemployed friend ).
