Holy Bat-Blog! I love Batman 1966!

In a chaotic Walmart during the holidays... scanning the DVD and CD aisle... I made a decision that would change my life... FOREVER. "Do you want this as an early Christmas gift?". I was completely torn between the Batman 1966 complete collectors DVD set and the Twilight Saga. I mean, Twilight is cool and all and that could be a whole other blog, but these spandex-clad men were calling me through that thick case of DVDs. So then it happened. BIFF! BOOM! BANG!!! BOUGHT!! Got my hands on this silly show and gave the entire DVD set a watch!

So what did I think? Hmmm... I don't know... let's ask my vintage Batman lunchbox, Batman masks, Batman figurines, and homemade Robin costume real quick. No but seriously, I ABSOLUTELY ADORE THIS SHOW! I've grown so attached to this specific Batman series that no other Batman series can compare! Well... maybe that's an overstatement since I do enjoy the Batman cartoons and some other Batman movies... BUT THIS BATMAN IS WHERE ITS ATTTT!

The show is so insanely campy and goofy, making it quite entertaining to watch. The show usually follows the same formula of "oh we gotta go undercover then get villain then get back home" but somehow has these zany twist that makes each 2-part episode uniquely fun. Burt Ward and Adam West are also a perfect fit for Batman and Robin, acting as if they were characters that hopped out of the original comic. There's so much I could talk about with this show, from the set design to the dialogue, it's truly bat-tastic! All the actors do a great job getting into their characters, even if there’s a casting swap (Riddler and Catwoman). I would definitely give this a watch if you want a more classic, fun take on Batman, something less grim and serious. This show just screams the 60’s if that makes any sense.

Also separate little bit but there’s an episode where the one and only LESLEY GORE plays the character Pussycat, Catwoman's sidekick!!! This episode was my introduction to more of Lesley Gore's wonderful songs and other 60s musicians. Very cool she was in 2 episodes!

But anyways... BATMAN 1966 IS MY FAVORITEEEEEEE. Check it out :D
