Ever wanted to know how the night sky looks like?
Well, it is actually an intricate map of lines, shapes and cultures right up there!!
This is a screenshot of some kind of "Space Control Center" on my computer. It's a pretty aesthetic program for displaying celestial information. I found it on an Instagram post and I HAD TO TRY IT.
The role of stars and the night sky is totally underrated!! Sailors used them to guide through the vastness of oceans and seas. Mathematicians and Physicists studied them for thousands of years trying to determine what in the world could those tiny dots be and establish the new scientific revolution all around the world. They were also a part of every country's culture and religion. Even the Canadian flag has the "Crux" constellation!! Even early advanced airplanes like the SR-71 used a celestial-based guidance system!!!!!!
When I have the chance and a clear sky, I simply admire those ancient drawings, waiting for them to move slowly through the sky. Red stars, Neutron stars, Quasars, Black holes, Supernovae... Each and everyone of them are alive and rumbling in the vacuum just to say hello to our radars and telescopes.
Just think about that our nearest star "Proxima Centauri". If it could see the Earth's surface, it would be watching you as you were four years ago due to the finite speed of light!! That means that a star far enough can receive images from the dinosaurssss rawwwr!!!!!
This is just a mindbogglingly topic that reminds me how beautiful and unique life is. So please, enjoy your stay here!!
