A life update and a vent

I mostly use my blog to talk about fashion but I thought I'd give an update on how things are going for me.

I'm only a month away from the end of my degree and then I have to go out into the world and make it. It's terrifying and it's also totally the right thing for me to do at this point in my life. I've studied for most of my time in education to be an artist and if I take the opportunities available to me now I have a very real chance of achieving that.

And yet the world is becoming a very scarey place. I'm openly and visably a trans person living in the UK. Fascism is on the rise globally. I can't just go into art and not do something about the world. This year I've made the effort of getting involved in my local tran community and it's really opened my eyes to how possible it is to build community and power. I think I have to continue doing that wherever I end up after my degree.

I'll never stop making art but I think the important thing for all of us to do in these times in build powerful local communities. If anyone feels the same, take this as your sign to get out there. There is a community waiting for people to put in the hard work and organise.
