The Beast I

The air cold and thick, he ran through the woods, hoping whatever was after him wouldn’t catch up. He could hear the rough breathing coming from the figure running on all fours; Not a man, not complete animal. Jason kept running til his legs became numb and the noises from the beast faded away. Once Jason was sure he lost the monster he collapsed to the soggy, wet ground. autumn leaves soaked in dew, and mud which clung to his skin. It was dark, but all Jason saw was red. Blood dripping down his face, covering his eyes. The mixture of mud and blood did not keep Jason from running, he got up and once more began to run towards something he did not know, hoping it was something much safer than the monster.
