Ever since the I'm Not Okay (I Promise) music video came out with a 4k remaster, I've been fixated on that specific AU, so here's a whole list of my headcannons for the characters in the video! I'll try to constantly update it with my thoughts.
THIS MIGHT BE LONG AS HELL SORRY!!!!! I just love them so much

Illi McMillin (She/They)

꩜ Transfem + unlabled, Illi is her preferred name

꩜ SUUUUuuuper clumsy girl, she has band-aids on her knees from tripping and scraping them all the time

꩜ Mediocre grades, I wanna say around C average

꩜ SUPER good in art class though, her art teacher loves her

꩜ She takes her sketchbook everywhere but gets super shy around people so she kinda leans and hovers over her sketchbook to hide whatever page she's working on (I do the same)

꩜ In an afterschool DND club with their brother Milton

꩜ CAN'T SWIM!!!!!!!!!!

꩜ Sucks at dancing, she either always trips over herself or steps on other people's shoes

꩜ She collects Fangoria magazines and shares with Milton. Her favorite horror movie is Suspiria

꩜ REALLY good at croquet. She's the master of the wicket 

꩜ Sometimes she cuts her own hair when it gets too long. She cuts it with kitchen scissors though so it always ends up kinda choppy but it fits her

꩜ Likes wearing skirts and dresses to school, as well as Mary Janes or Doc Martens. ART KID!!!!

꩜ Has weird little collections like bottle tabs and caps, mugs, and other trinkets

꩜ She has a tooth gap but is kinda self conscious

꩜ She LOVES Star Wars and her birthday is on May 4th. She's a huge nerd!!!

꩜ Her boyfriend Anthony pierced her ears even though she's DEATHLY afraid of needles. She passed out when she got them LOL but she loves them anyway. They're very gender affirming and she loves wearing cute wacky earrings

꩜ Has NO spatial awareness, always gets really close to people and invades their personal space. She does this around Anthony and he gets really flustered and his face turns red

꩜ Her fav snack is apples. Honeycrisps are her favorite, to be specific

꩜ Her and Milton walk to and from school because their mom is always too busy working at the hospital to drop them off and pick them up. She's a nurse

꩜ Speaking of their mom, Illi knows basic first aid and has adopted taking care of others by learning it from her mom (Idk how else to phrase it sorry does this make sense)

Illi and Milton's mom ⇗⇗
She's very serious and stoic around other people (to the point where she intimidates her kids' friends) but she has a soft spot for them and I like to think she still licks her thumb and wipes at their cheek like they're still 5 years old 

Milton (Milli) McMillin (He/Him)

꩜ Mlm but kinda shy about it

꩜ Has autism and keeps a pair of noise cancelling headphones on him at all times

꩜ Illi's younger brother, he loves her very much they're inseparable 

꩜ His nicknames was given to him by Illi because Illi used to call him that as kids, so he just adopted it. Only Illi gets to call him Milli though

꩜ Has asthma and lets Illi decorate his inhaler with stickers

꩜ Better grades than Illi because he is a NERD!!!!!!!!

꩜ Sometimes gets paid for doing other people's homework

꩜ Has a boyfriend but he goes to another school. Nobody believes him though

꩜ ALWAYS on his flip phone texting his boyfriend (who is totally real btw he just goes to a different school you wouldn't get it)

꩜ His voice cracks, especially when he's upset or irritated

꩜ His nostril is pierced and he wears a nose ring. Anthony pierced him because he got high in the school bathroom and begged Milton to let him pierce him because he was bored

꩜ He's the type of person to wear zelda t-shirt and cargo shorts

꩜ He pirates music and keeps them on cassette tapes

꩜ BIG nintendo fan, he has a ds and a n64 his mom gave him after she cleared out their attic. Surprisingly it still works! He loves Ocarina Of Time and Starfox

꩜ He collects Pokémon cards and snaps whenever anyone gets near them ("DON'T TOUCH THEM THEY'RE IN MINT CONDITION!!!")

꩜ Him and Illi both collect and share comics and sometimes when they have petty sibling rivalry they threaten eachother with either spoiling the next issue or straight up just hiding it so they can't read it

Milton's boyfriend, Peter ⇗⇗
He wasn't lying he really DOES go to a different school. Nobody believed Peter either when he mentioned Milton until he sneaked him into their school dance. They both got in trouble and got kicked out of the dance so they spent the rest of the day watching the sunset (iykyk)

Anthony Thomas (He/Him)

꩜ Bisexual and Italian (lethal combo)

꩜ Kinda flunking classes mostly just cuz he doesn't care. The only class he's doing good in is psychology

꩜ HUGE stoner. Always smells like weed

꩜ Illi's boyfriend. They met when Anthony was shoved into a random locker by bullies and it so happened to be Illi's locker. When Illi opened her locker, Anthony fell on top of her and Illi quickly took care of his wounds (learnt from her mom)

꩜ Punk kid but has a soft spot for his girlfriend. He's very puppy coded around her

꩜ Before Anthony and Illi started dating, he was crushing REALLY hard on her ever since their interaction at her locker. He thought it wasn't obvious but in reality he fumbled over his words and kept avoiding eye contact with her

꩜ Has braces and has cut Illi's tongue by accident while making out (based off real events)

꩜ REALLY good at guitar. The school's music teacher BEGS for him to join the school band but he always refuses because "that's for nerds"

꩜ He has his own band (Sector 12) and he goes to rehearsal after school. Illi tags along sometimes. She loves watching him play

꩜ He owns a red Gibson SG (like the one Frank had during Pencey Prep/Bullets) and its covered in stickers he's collected at local punk and rock shows 

꩜ He's the only one in the friend group with a drivers license so he has to drive everyone around (just like me sigh). His car also reeks of weed (probably cuz he always smokes before he goes into class. Also just like me)

꩜ Sometimes writes stupid gay poetry for Illi but he gets flustered and throws them away. Sometimes Illi finds them crumpled up on the floor and keeps them to herself but he doesn't know that

꩜ Sometimes he buys Illi Starbucks with the money he earns by playing at local venues with his band. They like to go on dates to cafes and diners and stuff

꩜ HUGE CLEPTOMANIAC!!! He shoplifts a lot and Illi gets nervous about him getting caught (even though he never does)

꩜ He shows love by gift giving so a lot of the time he steals stuff for Illi like earrings and stuff. When he DOESN'T steal stuff for Illi, his gifts are all hand made. One time he burned Illi a CD and even drew the cover (even though he sucks at drawing but Illi still loved it)

꩜ Sometimes gets high in the school bathroom and pierces himself or other students (like Illi and Milton). He has an eyebrow piercing, nose ring, snakebites, stretched gauges, and a double helix that were all done by himself

꩜ He skateboards a lot and has resulted in lots of accidents that Illi takes care off. One time he broke his arm and Illi took care of him for a week. He's stubborn about needing help but deep down he likes the attention Illi gives him

꩜ Sometimes he comes over to Illi and Milton's house to play n64 with Milton. Their mom scares him though, she's very intimidating 

꩜ LOVES Illi's gap tooth, especially when she takes a bite out of an apple and her bite mark has a little gap in it. He thinks it's the cutest thing ever

꩜ Sometimes skips class to be with Illi (I used to do this lol)

꩜ Not the closest with his mom, but he cares about her anyway. He tries to help with rent and food here and there with the money he earns with his band, but other than that they're pretty distant

꩜ He calls his mom "ma" cuz he's painfully Italian and whatnot

Anthony's mom ⇗⇗
She's a cig mom and has a heavy New Jersey accent. She has a tongue piercing and a Monroe piercing. She's also COVERED in tattoos. She doesn't know Anthony is bisexual but he hasn't bothered telling her cuz she's barely involved in his life anyway

Raymond (Sunny) Ortiz (He/She/They)

꩜ Ace and panromantic

꩜ Puerto Rican and bilingual (Eng and esp. Fluent in both!)

꩜ Doesn't care much about labels or pronouns, just call him whatever u want she dont gaf

꩜ He wears glasses (similar to the ones Ray Toro wore during bullets. Kinda like oval shaped idk)

꩜  Has pretty good grades in class, sometimes he tutors other students

꩜ Has adhd and always spins in his seat or chews on stuff (like pencils and crayons)

꩜ Really nice but can also be really blunt (Once told Illi she can't dance after she stepped on Anthony's shoes at the school dance)

꩜ Lives with his mom and his grandpa (he calls him Abuelo)

꩜ Also REALLY good at guitar, except he's actually in the school band. Sometimes they go to Anthony's band practice to fill in guitar.

꩜ He also plays a little bit of drums because of course he can

꩜ Best friends with Illi, they like hearing her talk about her interests. They bond over music and fangoria

꩜ BIG heavy metal and hard rock fan like Iron Maiden, Metallica, Greta Van Fleet, Megadeth etc etc. But he also listens to Queen and Soda Stereo. His mom HATES that kind of music though (his grandpa secretly supports it though, he used to be in a metal band when he was younger)

꩜ His grandpa plays a huge part in his music influence, giving Sunny her first guitar, a Peavey Retro Fire (giving this character a Les Paul would be too predictable, plus I totally see Sunny owning a Peavey. It was my first guitar too!)

꩜ Sunny also owns an acoustic Spanish guitar that was handed down, but he prefers electric

꩜ His family is super Hispanic and his mom is lowkey a conspiracy theorist so whenever something weird happens around the house, his mom is immediately like "La Llorona mijo" or "los duendes mijo" and refuses to explain any further (my friend came up with this hc its so funny)

꩜ Has family in Puerto Rico so he visits often, leaving Illi, Milton and Anthony bored (they miss her when she leaves to visit)

꩜ Their family home is really old so his walls are made out of wood and he still owns a CRT TV and a landline phone even though nobody really uses them anymore. Sometimes he watches old movies on the CRT TV since his grandpa still owns a VCR and some VHS tapes

This is what I imagine Sunny's house to look like. It's his childhood home and nothing has really changed since the 90's-2000's.

Sunny's Grandpa ⇗⇗ (yes it's Brain May just let me have fun ok)

He supports Sunny's interest in music, sometimes even showing her pictures of when he was in a band (in this AU he's not in Queen lolol) and telling stories about when he was on tour and stuff. They bond over music and guitars a lot. The pic on the right was him during his band days
