Astro Boy manga vol. 1 (No Spoilers)

I have been reading the omnibus of Astro boy and I have been enjoying it so far. I honestly did't expect anything from the book, I only remember seeing Astro when I was a kid when I got an action figure of him when I was 4 and that was it, it was only till those infamous Astro boy red boots came out was when the memory came back in my mind of him. So I picked up the book and started reading I feel like the story is cool (not groundbreaking by todays standard but this character started those standards from what video essays say. The first part of it is pretty dark for a what was aimed as a kids book. its basically like the anime Neon Genesis as in theres a new enemy to fight every volume. its 684 pages which goes by fast if your into it. Its like $25 so not too bad. Imma say if you really want to know the roots of manga then read this.
