people have used the phrase "y2k" for literally everything even to the point that it doesn't mean anything anymore.
y2k literally just means the year 2000 and the 2000's era. but people will wear regular clothes that r just stylish and everyone will label it as "y2k" like if it was a label or something
y2k isn't a fashion style, it's not a taste, it's not a genre, it's just a decade. people are just calling anything with actual design and color "y2k"
and it's only because everything in the 2020's is so bland and colorless. so anything with actual thought and cool design is labeled as something from the past.
corporate greed and fast fashion has killed design and made everyone boring and annoying. so if you ever see something that actually looks cool, don't label it as something from the past.
just call it cool and let it inspire you to be less of a sorry ass fucking poser.

Doesn't Y2K specifically refer to the computer bug that would've made computers read the date as 1900 instead of 2000 (and the thing people were so concerned about with the advent of the new millennium due to this)?
Kids these days are quite ignorant.
