A Letter From Your Scorched Remains

I've met your demise and she looks a lot like me

Screaming, writhing and begging to be free

She has lighter hair and darker skin

With the same insatiable ardor for sin

I've met your demise and she looks a lot like me

When we lock eyes she screams at meĀ

I stare at her with distant eyes

No sympathy, she's your demise

I've watched her burn for a long time

A flame that's never snuffed

The scorched mass underneath tries talking to me

But she hasn't burned enough

Sometimes I fall asleep

And that fire visits my insides

It takes control of my body

And leads it from my bedside

When I open my eyes, her head in my hands

And her insula on the concrete

I don't remember, but my body burns

So I know that it had to be me
