Common Misconceptions abt Scene

PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I GET ANYTHING WRONG!! im still learning and would love to hear ur opinions in the comments! also im very willing to answer questions! (or someone else can lol)

1. Scene is a poser subculture!!

I can see where this comes from considering that it was seen as 'poser' ish by some at first but i see a bunch of people say that scene came from posers, which isnt true!! its a mx of old rave culture and the mid-late 00s emo. A poser is someone pretending that theyre doing it just for the trend and a bandwagon hopper that calls it 'cringe' as soon as it loses popularity

2. You dont have to listen to the music to be scene

This one KILLS me!! i can understand that "Scene" music isnt one music genre,(Europop, Screamo, Crunkcore,EDM & more 4 an example) but it was made from music!! literally! (Attack Attack, Eighteen Visions and Seeyouspacecowboy r some earlier bands) but i dont really like people discrediting the music this community was built on. one more thing...6EARLYHUMAN, REBZYX AND KETS4EKI ARE NOT SCENE (i will not get into the why rn cuz this is getting long).

3. What Scene Fashion is...

I feel like a lot of younger kids whom want to dress scene dont quite grasp it (this can also be due to ppl not saying otherwise abt it). i mean this in a way where a bunch of rainbow clothes and some kandi isnt scene yk? if u are interested in dressing as such id recommend researching 00s fashion and building off that base!

4. Scenecore VS Scene

Feel like Scenecore is the bare minimum aesthetics of scene. i find a lot of the time ppl who say they are more "Scenecore'' also say that you don't rlly have to do anything but wear the clothes. And i say no! get involved! Know your favorite band! Watch Scene social media creators or old vids! have fun with it!! bc its so much more then a simple aesthetic (also is it just me or do Scenecore songs kinda romanticize SH and stuff...)
