Apologies for missing the last two days. I have been pretty zonked, and have been cramming for finals. Saturday, Sunday and today's entries will be done separately to make things easier to read.
Saturday was the day of the spring fest. I got up and did my thing. Outfit for the day was a gray 21 Pilots shirt, ripped jean shorts, black and neon rainbow knee high socks, rubber band bracelets, broken heart necklace, and custom converses.
I ate some granola and headed out.
It was definitely hopping. There were so many people there. To a point it almost felt cramped.
Most of the vendors were local business either selling whatever or giving away free swag. If you've ever been to a street fest you'll know what I mean. I did notice on the lawn of the courthouses that there was a bunch of tents, so I went to investigate. Turns out that said bunch of tents was essentially a flea market that mostly consisted of vintage 80s/90s sports stuff or Y2K era clothing. It was awesome, but rather expensive. I did end up buying a black vest with a large spider on it from an artist who is also a skater for $20, and it looks fully sick[I would post pictures, but I spilled some hot pot on it, and it needs to be washed.]
After
I was done in the flea market, I was getting pretty hungry. My plan was
to find one of the food trucks, but most of them had stuff I couldn't
really eat[I'm pescitarian BTW.] It was also super humid and I think it
was making me sick. I thought "well, school's not far from here. I might
as well swing by the union and get some lunch." I get there, and
everything was closed. Turns out that most of the on-campus restaurants
are not open on weekends. Well, the commons wasn't far, so I decided to
see if any of those restaurants were open, and they were also not.
Fortunately, There was a dining hall on the 2nd floor, so I ended up
putting some money in my account, and going there.
The dining
halls are pretty great. You pay about $11 and its all you can eat. They
are primarily self serve, but some of them do have a made to order
section[this one didn't]. I ended up making a simple pepperjack and
salad greens sandwich, got some strawberry yogurt with strawberries, and
cookies for dessert, with a coke zero. My second round consisted of an
egg and cheese burrito, a salad made of salad greens, shredded carrots
and some ceasar dressing, and some swirled soft serve with rainbow
sprinkles and raspberry drizzle. I ended up getting vanilla soft serve
after. I also got a refill of the coke zero.
I hung out in
the commons for a bit before heading home. While in the center of
campus, I ran into the same classmate who gave me his notes, and told
him how much they have been helping. Shortly after our conversation, I
get a notification from Alexa that there was a severe thunderstorm
warning and thought "oh shit I better get home."[For some context I
don't drive and walked to campus/the fest.]
I thought I was going to beat the storm, but once I was halfway home[where the fest was being held], it began raining. It started off as a bit of a drizzle, but then went full on downpour for the rest of the trip home. Not only that, but there were full on gusts of wind, making me feel even colder then I already was.
I made it home absolutely drenched. One of my
roommates was in the living space reading a book when I walked in the
door, and I told them "it's raining outside" before heading into the
bathroom to strip off my squelchy converses and socks.
I grabbed some clean PJs and took a nice hot shower, while hanging up all of my wet clothes.
I was royally pooped, so I worked on some of my notes before getting my clothes out for Sunday and going to bed.
