basking - 05/05/25

Weeks are freaking long, man. It's just one after the other, never ending. Before you know it, the week's already gone... and you're moving on to another. Time just keeps moving even if you don't really want it to. You can lay in bed all you want with your head in a pillow, but time doesn't care.

Diabolical.

I spent a lot of time just doing nothing, but it was some of the most productive nothing I've done. Is that reasonable? It was a very nice nothing, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I may lack responsibility at work, but lacking accountability at home just makes it even better.

The unfortunate part is not being paid for it. That does suck rather hard. "I could've spent that time drawing!" my brain yells. But basking waits for no one.

all that was accomplished was feeling the warmth of blankets and the softness of pillows.

Humans are lizards and should do less more. Take a break and let yourself bask on a rock or something. You've earned it, whoever you are.

I'm a firm believer that to express yourself, and put a piece of yourself out there, is a purpose in of itself. Even if the content is inane and shallow, to have your own piece of the internet, no matter how small, is worth someething.
