Right, I just don't understand. To me it doesn't make any logical sense because we should all be helping each other like what is fun about causing pain (mental or physical doesn't matter just pain) to people. They would have definetly removed if you just asked them to. You could have removed the blog post or issued a warnings of sorts. Hell, even just DMed them over it. It was pretty clear they just didn't realize they were going against the rules.

This site desperately needs a strike system. It's absurd that someone with an established profile and no violations under their belt can lose everything over an oversight.

Established does not mean "popular". It just means it was not a spam account, but an actual user.
Active users who have been on the platform for a while should not be banned without a strike over stuff like this. It's honestly ridiculous

they mirrored the entire post.. which violated the rules. I have no leniency against gore regardless of who they are posting it from.
By warning and/or removing the post is too light in this case.
They could have just reported the og post and waited but decided to basically mirror the post with slurs and all.
By only banning one and allowing other person to be free you're still allowing gore.

I think this permaban is absurd. Permabans have sense when issued against a user at risk of being a repeated offender (posting gore with the intention of harming others, saying slurs or bigoted stuff, harassment etc.). Or when it comes to obvious spam bots.

In this case it was someone trying to inform others of a TOS violation, who didn't realize what they were doing would be against TOS itself. Removing the post so that other users could not see it and informing the OP that it was violating TOS would have been enough.

Kia, flipflap posted gore, which even if it was for awareness - is still wrong. Anyone should have the common sense of not doing it, or at least posting a censored version.
It sucks they got banned, in their blog (before another account got banned) I told them ways they could try and reach out for ban appeal. But let's be honest, the ban wasn't unreasonable.

If you were in their place, would you post an uncensored version of the blog? If not, then why are trying to say the ban wasn't reasonable?

People got banned for less(Future Corpse for example, I know you read Jovi's blog, so you know what I mean), does it mean it's fine to ban people like that, no. But a warning for posting gore is ridiculous. For a bad username? Yeah, warning is in place. For showing someone blowing their head off? Instant ban. I ask once again, would you post something like this uncensored? Just because it was a mistake doesn't mean anything. Censoring those stuff is basic sense.

The fact that I have the good sense to not do it does not matter.
Warning other users and making the mistake of posting graphic images as proof should grant a post removal and a warning. There's no point in a permaban over mistakes in good faith when the user is very unlikely to commit a second time.
I understand issuing a permaban on the spot. But they did go through with an appeal explaining the situtation and it was refused. That makes no sense to me

Anyway, permaban is in place. They posted gore. The appeal didn't make through even though they explained what happened and are unlikely to do so again? That doesn't change anything. They posted gore, no one who did it, accident or not, should get an account back. It really doesn't matter if it's a honest mistake, it's still a serious thing. If they were so worried about a blog getting edited there was no need to repost it. Take screenshots, report it with links to those screenshots and leave it like that, it's enough evidence. I don't want to spam the mod's notifications, so if you want to continue he discussion, you can IM me.

Reminder.
Mods cant unban. They fallow the rules, ban where they see violation.
If you seek to not be banned any longer, you will have to appeal to an directly. Some accounts have been unbanned before. But, it is rare.
Kolt here was following orders bestowed upon him, ignorance of the law is not a justification, favoritism can not be displayed, regardless of who, regardless of reason,
violation has the given result,
one should just assume they are dealing with a computer.
It sees a situation, assesses if violation is present, confirms, action is taken.
Case closed.
If not desirable by others, then use it as an example for others to not do the same, lesson given.

it does suck flipflap got banned but stop and think for a min, it was dumb of them to post screenshots in a blog insted of just reporting to the mods. even if the gore and slurs were censered in flipflaps blog , y post a blog about it at all? just report and block and move on, by posting screenshots in a new blog they just gave that sicko more attentian and spread the hate further to more ppl who didnt look at the og blog in the first place. idk if any of that made sense but i hope so

Nothing real to contribute here, but thank you, mods. SpaceHey is supposed to be my clean media and if I had run into the evidence of what's being spoken about, uncensored, I would be in a hospital right now. That is a small part to why rules are in place, and why they must be thoroughly evaluated and navigated logically before any posting. I am sorry someone lost their account trying to help, but I'm happy it wasn't too stupid of a reason this time

@ benny, gore was posted by both sides. you cant ask for moderation and then turn around and say the moderation is unfair when it happens to a friend for... posting gore. two mods now have confirmed that gore is an immediate bannable offense, mistake or not. thems the brakes!

the real issue here is that an isnt clear enough to the general userbase about whats acceptable and what gets you banned. although tbh in this case yeah "dont post gore, period" is common sense... and "i didnt notice it because i was upset about being harrassed" isnt an excuse. sorry. if something upsetting happens online, logoff. come back later to deal with it after youve calmed down. the troll was trying to trigger/get a rise out of as many people as possible and, guess what, it worked! dude's probably laughing at you all and using this as fuel to do it again so MAYBE itd be a good idea to move on ^_^

You want favortism not moderation. It's not harrasment it's common sense.
Regardless if I just banned the troll only people might go "why wasn't flipflap banned too?" and it allows behaviour that trolls might exploit. Removing the post, too light. Warning and Removing too light. Banning the user too harsh. Just doesn't end.
Hell, I can just be completely silent and in the shadows and not explain why I ban people.
