20 weeks of paramore - week 9 - adore

“if i let you love me, be the one adored…” 

week nine! sorry it's late. almost halfway there, too, i can’t believe it~ today’s song is another totally hidden gem, adore. an unreleased demo, if i’m not mistaken. it’s my profile theme currently, too, ehehe.

the lyrics describe a careful fall into love. overwhelmed with affections they aren’t sure how to express, and haven’t really felt before, the singer weighs whether or not to trust their heart and place it in the care of another (you, the listener). 

this song feels like summer to me. a bittersweet summer, that feels wonderful in the moment but perhaps fills you with longing or even regret looking back years down the line. whenever i listen to it, i imagine the way sunlight casts everything in a warm glow. or as one looks at someone, right in the line of the sun, they suddenly become radiant. they’re the source of light in one’s life, at least in that moment. and then they step out of the sun, appearing as they did before but different in one’s heart.

what to do with this revelation, this new feeling…? only time will tell.
